I've dealt with my fair share of negligent hospitals, but leaving patient sample boxes I sure hope they were empty? outside the front door without a staff member in sight has to take the cake. Insane. Aside from that, I wasn't called back for my appointment until it was already halfway over and felt completely dismissed by the ER-referred specialist, who was eager to prescribe me a medication before I'd even had any testing done. Avoid Providence at all costs.
Came in and had 9/10 abdominal pain. Didn’t get any pain relief for over 2 hours. I had to use the call light to get them to come check on me and it took 15-30 minutes every time. I also didn’t know who my nurse was since they never introduced themselves and never wrote it on the white board. I understand when an ER is busy but pain relief is part of a standard of care. The Dr. Didn’t seem to take my pain serious until after my CT scan I am now needing surgery
Came in per Dr orders for serious issues. Because I didn't act sick they kept passing me up. Been here 5hrs. The receptionist was rude and unsympathetic and did not care. Still watching others going in that came along after me. I feel I was treated without respect and did not care what was happening to me because I didn't act up. Worst hospital I have ever been to. Will never return after this. Empathy is not their strong suit.
The Tridemic is real. I just experienced it firsthand with my mom. She was ill and asked to go to the ER if you know my mom, this is not something she “wants” to do, so you know it is important to go. We went to our small, local hospital, Providence Willamette Falls. When we got there at 1pm we were told the wait to be seen could be as long as 5 hours. In the mean time more and more people came in - at least 6 by ambulance and many others on their own. Elderly, very small children - it seemed like we were in the first few minutes of a movie that was about to take a very bad turn. The staff was overwhelmed but holding everything together with grace, kindness and quick-thinking. Every single medical professional I encountered started with, “I’m so sorry, I know you’ve been waiting a long time,” and then on to whatever question or news they had to share. They were triaging in the waiting room. They were setting up makeshift privacy areas to screen patients. They took those waiting for rooms to get tests done ahead of time so once they got to the doctor all the results were in for review. They had beds and chairs on every wall of every hall. And still, I must say again, so polite and apologetic for this problem they didn’t create. As you can imagine, sadly, not everyone was as nice to them in return. They we’re doing everything in their power to help us quickly with very limited space and resources. After 12 hours in the waiting room but with all her test results in hand, mom got a room, was evaluated by the doctor, treated and released after a total of 15 hours. This is not typical at PWFH. The longest anyone in my family has waited in the past was a few hours. The cause is that 50% of the patients had Covid, RSV or the flu. This has been the case for the last two weeks and is expected to continue for quite a while. This 20 bed ER had 50 patients at any given time. Bless you PWFH, bless the amazing staff, and I hope everyone gets their vaccinations and boosters. XO
One of the worst care experiences ever. Wait times were in excess of 7 hours on 2 occasions and they were very dismissive despite our need to return because of a failure on their part the 1st visit. Additionally, this seems to be standard wait times as some poor little girl about 4 years old,was screaming for 5.5 hours in agony, and the dad was just hopeless trying to get care for her. They were incredibly rude and dismissive of him and the child, everyone felt for them.Get it together Providence! We all understand your busy, but we all waited an incredibly long time, patiently,to get a moment of your time when we are in our greatest need. The least you could do is have some compassion and understanding. Treating people rushed and inadequately is not acceptable. Our whole family will discontinue care with Providence over this experience after filing the formal grievance and associated BBB complaint on violations of patients rights recorded today.
Took my daughter into the ER, sat in waiting room over 3+ hours understandable being busy BUT when in triage my daughter got sick as they were weighing her, her father tried to use the suction thing to help her get it out and the nurse wanted to smack his hand away. My daughter could’ve choked on her own vomit. Highly unprofessional and a disgrace at that point! NEVER stop a parent from helping their child!
I was visiting my friend going through psychosis. I calmed my friend down and almost had them asleep. I was about to leave and gave my friend a hug and they kissed me on the cheek. Directly after, a security guard walked in and said “no kissing”. I said “they just kissed me on the cheek, that’s it”, the security guard replied with “you need to leave now” and upset my friend back into a full on mental breakdown. The staff did not handle that situation professionally at all and should have asked me to come talk to them outside of the room before making me leave. Because they did not handle it professionally, my friend was put in restraints and mistreated, left to sit in their own pee that had been there so long it dried and stained to their sheet. Now they said I’m not allowed to come back and visit them because apparently it’s my fault that they had to put him in restraints. Completely cruel people that work here and it is UNACCEPTABLE! They also all gave me dirty looks as I was leaving. What a disgusting place. Please do not let your loved ones come here!
Watch out on your billing. Check and recheck. My son was very sick and admitted to ER. While I sat in the ER room, the very condescending no bedside manner doctor was telling me as I sat next to my son that he was going to die. I'm not a hospital person never have been, and faint whenever I see someone in the hospital. It's just the way I have always been. I told my husband I'm going down . He picked me up and they told him to put me on bed in next room. My husband kept telling them I always faint in hospitals they would not listen. When I came to they were cutting my shirt off . I told them to stop! I begged them to help my son not me. I know my own body. My son ended up passing away and a few days later I recieve a bill for $1400.00 I told them to stop ny husband told them to stop . I have never been charged at any other hospital for fainting. These people are sick to do that to people. They did nothing for me infact they owe me for my shirt they cut! I then go out and get an attorney and after months finally gets these sick people to drop the bogus charges , but instead of taking it off there system they turn it over to collections, so now I have to pay my attorney again to deal with this collections. Incompetent lack of any empathy at all . The worst time in a parents life ,and all they want is money. I want my money for the $80.00 shirt you people ruined. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO DO THIS TO PEOPLE ! On top of all this after cutting my shirt off and having nothing to wear I just assumed they would let me wear the gown home, but no the nurse sprinted after me ,and said I had to give it back and made me take it off in the general waiting room with strangers watching me. It was humiliating. I'm still traumatized by this! Hospitals are suppose to be caring, and all I felt was degraded!
I get it, they are busy. Everywhere is. But you would think they would put an IV in someone rather quickly if they have been vomiting for three days, unable to keep anything down, and is about to pass out. This is where people should get care when they are sick, not almost pass out in the waiting room for care. This hospital is a joke.
God awful customer service. Unbelievably bad. My wife and I have been requesting records for weeks. We get transferred for hours, then put on hold until we can't wait any longer and hangup. The two doctors there are the only people I'd recommend. The rest of the hospital is so awful you should never choose this facility. You will not be valued as a customer. They will make you feel like they want you to never come back. Save yourself the headache, heartache and hassle.
