Wilkes University

I don't know why anyone would feel confident sending their kid to college here. The rough part of town understatement starts on Academy St, which is two blocks west. I hear gunshots and sirens from time to time. Parents/family/prospective students just see the campus, but they have no idea about the surrounding neighborhood. Why would they? Also the kids living off-campus around this area seem to enjoy wandering drunk and yelling in the middle of the night, and they sometimes start fights with the locals who tell them to be quiet, which makes everything worse. I live nearby and I can hear and see all of it. Check the local crime map yourself.

Visit for grandson orientation, so far seems like a good choice for him, would know more after he starts attending, but I like the place so far. Update it's been almost 2 months, and GS loves it at WU. The student support system is awesome. The only down is that the cafeteria needs to step up a little by changing the food more often. Kids will get tired of the repeated food options. However, eating off campus is also an option and easily assessable.

Wilkes University's Ed.D program has been everything I hoped for and more. In a good way

I love this university that place I graduated from and I still miss it.

They are wonderful in the beginning when recruiting you. They will call you check in on you and respond to your emails. A few months after admission you’re just another student. They change success advisor so often that at this point you can expect a new one every week. This was my experience. After emailing 3 people about clinicals and booking an appointment to speak to someone, no one has yet to call me. I’m clearly frustrated with no one to express my concern to so I come here. Do better.
