Wilfrid Laurier University

As a former crown-ward there's a lot of support from counseling to budgeting and even some financial support. Im only in my first semester but its amazing and im so greatful to be a Golden Hawk they care about students and their future. Not many schools can say the same. They also have many events that promote continuing education in other schools I never thought id get to get a bachelor's degree in Criminology and Anthropology but now im well on my way.

I have graduated for 5 years, and keep receiving calls from Laurier every year, asking me to make a donation to the school. I made one in my first time, they sent me a link to put all my card info and request me to put all my info in while I am on the phone. I was saying I would do that after I hanging up, and they were just saying a lot of words to refuse, like a scam. In the second yearthey asked me to set the donation as monthly… I have no choice but to block the number…

Only one library on the whole campus, and nowhere else to study. No wifi while I was there either. No quiet places to study, only loud, social environments. Very frustrating. Overpriced low-quality food too.

I would not recommend the Music Therapy program at WLU. Out of my graduating class of 9 students, not a single one has managed to land a full-time job in the field. The program paints an optimistic picture of career opportunities, but the reality after graduation is very different. Many of us are stuck piecing together part-time work or jobs outside of music therapy altogether. For the time, effort, and tuition invested, the return has been extremely disappointing.

I’ve been waiting over 6 months to hear back from Laurier University regarding my application, and I still haven’t received any response. The lack of communication is extremely frustrating and disappointing.
