We really liked this place! The owner, Jeff and his team can cook. The smoked bologna was incredible. I never expected that would be so good. The place has several custom sauces that were also great and quite a treat. We were up on the bikes from Florida and the guys at Dueling Grounds Distillery, also a great tour, recommended Jeff's place to eat. Great choice. Stop buy if you're in the area and you won't be disappointed!! Side note. The food portions are very generous as well.
Amazing food, and on top of that, great hospitality! I felt welcomed the moment I walked in. The food was and memorable. It's my first time in Kentucky as well, and this restaurant left such a good impression!
The real deal! And Jeff the owner came out to walk us Northerner’s through the menu. The house made sauce was EPIC! Thank you Jeff for the warm welcome, the full belly’s, the big smile and sauce to-go!
Second visit update.. I can't stress how good this place is. A lot of food for the money and everything was delicious. Smoked baloney is amazing. Stopped in this BBQ spot after visiting the Dueling Grounds Distillery. Located a stones throw from it and was a great find! Jeff came out to check on us and make sure our meal was good and it we told him it was delicious!! All staff was helpful and meal came out quickly. Brisket was super tender and shoulder was juicy. Hogg fries were seasoned perfectly. Oh and the sauces were delicious too! Overall this was a great meal and I recommend checking them out.
When Best Things Kentucky ranked this one 2/10, I sat up and took notice. The high rating inspired me to make a detour en route from Nashville to Atlanta and give it a try. A pulled pork sandwich and order of “hog” =seasoned fries came to $8.78. They were short staffed, and the dining room was closed, so I went through the drive-thru and ended up eating on a picnic bench in a cold wind. No matter. One bite of the pulled pork, and it was clear that I had happened upon BBQ nirvana. The pork is so beautifully smoked that I urge everyone to sample it plain before trying the sauce that came with the order. The seasoned fries, which appear to have been given a dash of rub, complemented the meat beautifully. This is great BBQ, and well worth the few minutes that it takes to come into town from the interstate. If you are a BBQ fan, you should consider this, our 355th stop in a journey spanning 35 states, a "must do." Parking: Ample in unpaved lot
I found this place last year and I've probably ate here a dozen times but, to be quite honest the last few times I've ate here the food just hasn't been that great. I usually get the pit combo but it's getting to where every time I get my plate the only thing that is hot on the plate is the turnip greens, everything else is Stone Cold. I got shoulder today along with brisket and chicken and per usual all three were cold. The brisket was tough and the shoulder look like it was undercooked and was chewy. I'll definitely come back to get that loaded baked potato for sure because it is freaking awesome ,but as far as anything else, I think today was my last day.
Had a quarter chicken and a piece of smoked sausage in both were absolutely phenomenal! The cornbread tastes like it was made from fresh ground cornmeal. Don't know if you could get it any fresher.Food: 5/5
we have cleaned the windows here bi-weekly since july, Jeff is super friendly and has never rescheduled i highly recommend their food I never leave hungry!
Food was good . P The owner cares a lot about his food and people that come in . But I can say Meats was better the next day .Food: 4/5
This is a hidden gem, well-known to locals but not so much to visitors. The food is very good and the rub is great!! Try the pork shoulder and brisket. They are top shelf!! The owner is very friendly and helpful. Give this place a try if you are in the Franklin, KY area!!
