Great historical place for one time visit when you're in Yellowknife. We were lucky enough to be there on their closing day. They're only open through summer and early fall so do visit when you're in town. It has a nice cabin-like vibe overlooking the Great Slave Lake and a very nice atmosphere.
The chicken burger is amazing as well as the Caesar salad. Service is great. Glad the wildcat is open this summer. The only critique would be that the poutine was a little bit heavy on the gravy.
This is actually a 2.5 star, pending a return visit experience. I usually try out the fries on first visits to any eatery - hard to mess that up, right? The Wildcat offered them with the option of chicken or beef cubes. I went with chicken. My advice: don't. While the fries were good, the 'chicken cubes' were tiny dry pieces of meat that tasted like fish. I'll update this when I try the burger that others have recommended. Friendly service, pleasant atmosphere. Though the patio umbrellas struggled against the wind, it's beautiful when you sit outside. Parking: Caution about parking: it's generally scarce on that side of town, especially in the winter.
Cozy, comfortable indoor dining and refreshing outdoor dining with a view of Back Bay Lake. Clean restrooms and kitchen. Yummy, reasonably-priced food served by the most polite and friendly servers! I’m glad we ended up here. Bullocks Bistro wouldn’t give me the time of day as we waited to be seated.
An establishment with a long history that spans 85 years. If you can catch it when it’s open during the day, try the delicious daily fixin’s. A café serving food with personality.Food: 4/5
The wings are well seasoned and breaded for real. Great view too.
Amazing food, and even a more amazing service. Very friendly people.
Really Enjoyed this Place Today, Thanks for Being Opened on a Stat Holiday Canada Day. Had the Bison Burger and My Lady had the Arctic char, Both were Delicious. Wasn't to Busy when We Went. Maybe the Weather, Maybe it is Early July, Not Sure and Not Complaining. Found it to be Perfect.
A definite place to visit while in YK. Iconic and unique fresh selections fish all way from Nunavut on regular basis. These 2 dishes were amazing the maple/ginger chicken and the Bison Burger.
They served me the best fish taco I have ever had. Period. My son and I were fighting over the third taco on the plate, it had some kinda corn/sauce on it that is hard to describe...just simply great. The salad was very good too. We had a fish and chips that beat out most places in London. Very crispy but not greasy... Loved it. Everyone should go here.
