I absolutely love this bakery! All gluten free and all delicious. The macadamia white chocolate cookies and cinnamon donuts are exceptional. Lots of choices, sweet or savoury. This is the absolute best gluten free bakery I have ever tried. I have been celiac for 10+ years and I LOVE baked goods. I live in Victoria, but I stopped at Wild Poppy Market on a trip up island. I got a box of a variety of goods muffins, squares, cinnamon buns, scones, doughnuts, tarts, and everything was delicious. The cinnamon buns were to die for! I was a bit hesitant as they do not have icing and I love a good cream cheese icing, but the filling is so gooey and moist...they are the best. If I could give more than 5 stars I would - the bakery will be a MUST on every trip up island.
I have restrictive diet because of health problems. I was almost in tears coming into your shop. It has been a long time since I could have a proper fluffy scone. The scone was still warm. It was moist, soft and beautiful rise to it with a nice crust. I ve been slowly nibbling on it all day savoring it. I have yet to try the muffin. It looks delectable. I got a naniamo bar for a friend. The market had a nice variety of products including salt spring islands soya nova tofu. I can't wait to make salad rolls tonight. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I buy lunch here almost every workday due to the fresh tasty food and great prices. I eat gluten-free and this is the best place in town for selection. Their cupcakes are really, really amazing. My coworkers got to try some for my birthday and they couldn't tell they were gluten-free I recommend the beef lasagna, sandwiches and the lunch bowls. There's something for everyone.
It’s so great to have somewhere to stop that’s fully gluten free when driving up island. We got the Roasted vegetable salad and egg salad sandwich, with a Nanaimo bar, donut and cookie for desert. All were great!
Unfortunately I was told that any of the prepmade lunch items were as is and i could not take out the cheese to make it dairy-free. Disheartened as finding gluten and dairy free food is quite hard these days! But I enjoyed a vegan gluten free donut for breakfast. I hope to return perhaps in a less busy day and maybe have a better all around experience as the atmosphere was quite tense.
Amazing gluten free bakery! Worth a drive from Victoria if you aren’t sure. Some of the best celiac baked foods you can get around. The staff are very friendly too! Very reasonably priced as well. Dietary restrictions: Celiac friendly*
Delicious gluten free food, hot or takeaway, plus wonderful baked goods. Also a good selection of gf packaged items. Friendly efficient staff. There's a place to eat inside, in the section that serves ice cream in the summer. Highly recommended.Food: 5/5
Wild Poppy is a local gem and I am consistently happy with every visit. The food and drinks are fresh, delicious and made with quality ingredients. The staff are very kind, competent and efficient. I particularly appreciated how one staff member went out of her way to ensure my veggie chili with cornbread and my husband's turkey sandwich were just right. It made my day, thank you.
I got vegan/GF cupcakes for a party and they were a hit! Everyone loved them. These are by far the BEST GF/vegan cupcakes I have ever had. wild poppy was also super accommodating with pick up time. I would give 10 stars if I could !!
