Went to White Lily Diner for my birthday and brought my parents and my wife. The four of us squeezed into a booth, which was very tight but still cozy. Service was friendly throughout, and the food was solid across the board.nnWe tried a good mix of dishes, including the meatloaf dinner, turkey dinner sandwich, Reuben sandwich, pork belly appetizer, and the pimento cheese, which everyone agreed was really delicious. Lots of pickles came with the meals, which ended up being much needed since the food leaned rich and heavy. The acidity helped cut through everything nicely.nnCoffee refills were included, and they also serve beer and alcohol early in the morning, so naturally I went with a breakfast beer, which was great. We finished with the crème brûlée donut, which wasn’t my favourite, but still fun to try.nnAll in all, it was a good, solid birthday meal and a place I’d happily return to. A 7.6 rating.nn#TomEatsYummyFoodBecauseWhyNot
White Lily Diner absolutely blew me away. We started with the broccoli salad and radicchio salad — both were out of this world. The dressings were so well-balanced and flavorful, especially the radicchio one, which I think was a seasonal special — crisp, fresh, and perfectly dressed.nnThen came the salmon toast, which might honestly be one of the best bites I’ve had all year. The bread itself was incredible — crusty, chewy, and full of flavor — topped with smashed capers and olive oil that brought everything together beautifully.nnFor mains, our table had the meatloaf dinner, Reuben, patty melt, and hot turkey dinner. I was lucky enough to try a bit of everything, and there wasn’t a single miss. Every dish tasted like it was made with care — rich, comforting, and layered with flavor. I also tried a side of sausage, which had this amazing peppery kick that stood out in the best way.nnThe music and overall vibe were perfect — that classic diner feel but elevated, with an energy that just makes you want to stay longer. Our server was fantastic — attentive, friendly, and really added to the experience.nnAnd just when I thought it couldn’t get better, we finished with their house-made donuts — absolutely divine. Light, fluffy, and perfectly sweet — the ideal ending to an already unforgettable meal.nnWhite Lily Diner is the kind of place that reminds you why eating out can be such a joy. Whether you’re coming with friends, family, or on a date, it’s a total win. Every bite was a moment of pure happiness.
The food was good. Fresh ingredients, nicely prepared, and you can tell there's thought behind each dish. The service fit the vibe: warm, cozy, and laid-back.nnWe ordered:nn• White Lily Farms saladn• Etta's breakfastn• Summer toast with pickled zucchinin• Steak n' EggsnnDef the kinda spot that feels easy to settle into for a slow morning if you can get a table. That said, it wasn't quite enough for me to come back and wait through a long list again. Still a solid all-day breakfast spot if you're in the area and don't mind taking your time. Highly recommended to join the waitlist the moment they open lol.
While I liked the food here, we had to wait about 3 hours on the waitlist and kill time in between before being able to actually be seated. I think that dampened my excitement for trying anything and while the food was good, I think I would've preferred it more if it didn't take so long to get seated.
White Lily Diner is one of those hidden gems that earns its following with consistently great food and a warm, relaxed atmosphere.nI’ve visited a several times now and have always been impressed. This time I ordered the meatloaf dinner plate and it did not disappoint. It came with creamy grits, savoury gravy, mushrooms, pickles, and a fluffy biscuit. I added a sunny-side-up egg because it felt right for brunch. Everything tasted homemade, comforting, and full of flavour. The portion was more than generous I couldn’t finish it, which says a lot. They serve good-quality drip coffee, no espresso drinks, but I was just fine with that.nNow, be prepared: there’s always a wait. They’ll take your name and text you when a table is ready, but depending on when you go, it could be a long one. Expect to wait an hour but I’ve heard four-hour estimates before! That said, the food is absolutely worth the wait.nPrices are good for the quality, and it’s clear that care goes into every dish. Definitely a go-to in Toronto for me.
