I was amazed when I first went to the library in Whitby. THEY HAVE EVERYTHING. I home school my kids so it's a regular place that we go. It has everything for everyone. The layout is very contemporary. Private rooms with windows and glass walls upstairs for groups work. Very comfy seating for long afternoons. They have amazing programs for kids and a computer section for them as well. It's hard to think of something that they don't have. When you go it's hard to leave.
Very friendly staff, quite a decent selection of materials. Small place. Computers, scanner, printer. As well as a light station, which has benefits for depression and winter months seasonal affective disorder.
Why does this location exist when a state of the art, fully featured and equipped library exists a bus ride away? It's a shame the expense of operating a redundant location is wasted instead of invested in the main branch.
Nice place. Not a lot of books. But it is a quiet place for people.
