Thanks again for a lovely afternoon. We really enjoyed ourselves, and will definitely be back. The food was good, enjoyed the band, but our server, Ashley is the one who made it a 5 star review. She was so good to us and we will definitely come back any day she is on.. I would make sure you keep her as she was the one who made our experience exceptional. Asjley, you know who i am....., Ellen.....and no! Not that unkind one.n.
Witnessed a large lady patron call out a young man for leaving a smaller tip on a larger bill. This woman was not his server, just an off duty Karen who also obviously works there, who the server complained to about her small tip. I overheard the young man state that there was an issue with their machine and he hadn't realized he left a smaller tip. It was obviously a mistake.nnThis woman stormed up to the table to shame him and said something like $10 on a $300 bill Really ?! Even if it hadn't been a mistake, guess what Karen ? that's his business! Not yours, and it definitely was not up to you to make some public spectacle to publicly shame a paying customer.nnAnother member at their table went up and paid additional money to the server, which I thought was very generous of the table, considering that poor young man was verbally attacked and shamed by this woman.nnFirst of all, tipping is not a requirement, it is something earned, and is now expected everywhere people go, even for things that a tip shouldn't even be considered.nnI do understand servers depend on the extra money from tips to help their overall income, but the actions of the server and her off duty coworker were absolutely unacceptable.nnMaybe your business should pay servers a living wage so they don't feel entitled to shake people down for what they feel is owed to them for doing their actual jobs.nnI for one will not be returning, and I hope that the other table doesn't either.
They definitely make and serve the BEST pizza! Trust me.. I have eaten more than my share of pizza in the last 65 years and pizza from The Wheatsheaf tops them all. I want to take a Wheatsheaf pizza into other establishments and show them what a REAL pizza looks like. I just wish I lived closer.
You can’t give zero stars, but this server deserves it.nThis was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in years. Our server receipt said “Colby” was rude from the moment we sat down. I asked a simple question about the spice level of the Cajun tacos — she refused to give a straight answer even though I clearly offered my spice range tolerance. I then asked what was in the tacos because I have dietary restrictions thinking about cilantro because it tastes like soap to me. She listed the ingredients but never mentioned sesame seeds. I don't know about you but I've never had to be on high alert for sesame seeds on a taco before. Had she actually stated all the ingredients my daughter and I would have put the kibosh on said garnish.nnWe waited 40 minutes for two tacos and a basic bacon-and-eggs breakfast. The pub wasn’t even busy — maybe ten people total, including us. When the food finally arrived, the tacos were covered in sesame seeds, which I absolutely cannot eat. I can't digest them and can even wind up in the emergency room if I eat them. When I pointed this out, the server acted like it was my fault for not disclosing an allergy — even though I had specifically asked for an ingredient rundown for that exact reason. The attitude she gave me was unbelievable. A person like this has no business being in a customer service vocation.nnWe ended up sending the tacos back, I left hungry and late for our appointment, ta boot. I am thoroughly unimpressed. Rude service, slow kitchen, zero accountability. I won’t be back, and I’ll be telling others to avoid this place as well.nnBooooo!nnPS the entire menu is overpriced. Do not go here. The Crow and Gate as well the Cranberry Arms are way better.
Picture it if you will, stranger walks into a saloon through creaky doors, music stops, crowd turns. That was me entering Wheatsheaf Pub for the first and only time on a foggy mid-January Sunday night. There were about ten people scattered around different tables and they all knew each other. I felt super uncomfortable and almost left but once everyone stopped staring and the chip dropped off the server's shoulder, it was a wonderful experience. I had a cheese quesadilla with corn in it—not a good fit and some Island dark beer on draught. The server was iconic and the food was pretty good minus the corn. This was a very entertaining experience. That being said, don't go if you're full of yourself.
