Story

Welcome to Wet Noses. A unique holistic canine retreat.

At Wet Noses, we have more than 25 years of experience in all aspects of animal training, education, nutrition and care. We designed this stress-free environment in a quiet country setting just outside of Calgary to cater to the needs of dog owners and enthusiasts who know the importance of a care facility with limited guest numbers, ongoing training, natural food products and a relaxing “Spaw” for pampered pooches.

We go beyond a “place to stay” to offer an alternative option that strives to enhance your life as a guardian and the life of your beloved friend.

As our guest, your dog will enjoy playing in large, open grassy areas that allow for abundant exercise and socialization without overcrowding – with swimming available seasonally. Private suites offer calm sleeping quarters and a place to enjoy an unhurried meal. A typical stay ends with a trip to our “Spaw” – an opportunity to get all cleaned up for the joyous reunion with you.

We use Wet Noses for their huge private off leash area. If you have a reactive dog, just want to walk your dog privately or just with friends this is a great option. The area is well groomed in Summer/Winter and other users are respectful of booked times. My only advice is to make sure to bring repellent during the wet months or book times where mosquitoes are less active.

I love it here, and more importantly... my dog loves it here! I have a fear reactive dog who has no recall. So going to dog parks is a no no, and while I have a yard, it's not big enough to burn off some energy. After our second visit we bought a 12 block pass we love it so much. My dog gets to experience freedom in a fully fenced area and I have never seen her so happy. It is worth a 40 minute drive. It's clean, and well kept! Our first block was at 7pm and it was dark, Brian said that was no way to experience our first visit and was going to give us a free block to make up for it. We still enjoyed our time, but it was an incredibly nice gesture. We are even headed there tomorrow afternoon!

We just started going to Wet Noses this month and have been there 5 times to use the HUGE off-leash area. I must say that our dogs love it and I love that it's completely fenced and safe for them. I have not had issues with the agility ring being booked or a seminar going on, so I can't comment on that, but in general I love the place! It is so nice of the owners to offer up their land as a safe, quiet and clean space for dogs like mine, with poor recall, to race around and enjoy themselves. Thank you for allowing us the privilege of coming to your home and using your property!

I have been coming for over 2 years and and my dogs and I love this place. I have 3 large dogs who train in agility. This venue gives us the incredible opportunity to train outdoors on terrific equipment in very well kept, secure rings. The off leash is huge and well fenced so the dogs are always safe. The strategically placed cans and poop bags are great (I try not to forget my poop bags but sometimes I do). The area is very well kept and they mow wide pathways in the off leash field. My dogs love exploring and are never bored here. When it is hot they can have a swim in the canal (which is fenced so if you don't want them in the water they can't get there). I highly recommend coming out and enjoying some quality time with your fur babies!

I’m very grateful to have a place like Wet Noses to take my dogs to run, play agility and swim. They have a 40 acre off leash area with agility and obedience rings at one end close to the parking lot, there’s enough room to run your dogs off leash without even getting close to the other rings. I’ve been there when they’ve had other events going on with no issues at all, read the rules and keep your dog on leash until you get out into the field, again 40 acres of room. The biggest problem I have is trying to keep my dog out of the water and focus on agility! LOL I want to thank the owners for having such an great facility for us dog lovers to enjoy! Another plus is that they are great to deal with!
