What looks like a great little demonstration farm, is also a great place to wander through the woods and fields and experience a pristine natural environment. Bring your little ones here to meet all the farm animals, like chickens, cows, goats, lamas, pigs, and even a horse. There are also bunnies, ducks, and a goose. Inside the office you will find snakes, lizards, and frogs. But that's only half the farm. Manicured gardens stretch 100s of feet to the back of the field. There you will find paths the meander past ponds and a brook and into a small forest hidden within this West Hartford treasure. This place loses a star since I can't bring my dogs to walk along the paths with me. Picnicking is also not allowed. These restrictions are mainly to protect the animals that live here and are also why this park tends to be the most well kept in terms of litter. If you live nearby, you should certainly visit this hidden gem.

Livestock, extensive gardens and a large network of trails through a variety of settings make this park a guaranteed winner with young children. Day camp programs are also very popular.

What a beautiful place! Cute animals, gorgeous gardens, and room for my toddler to run. We really enjoyed our morning here.
