The size of most of their dim sum dishes are huge - this is what they are known for! Their har gow and sui mai are about double the size of other restaurants. Surprisingly, their rice roll wraps and pea tips dish was comparatively small. The overall taste and flavour of everything is OK, it's familiar but nothing really stands out. I think in the effort to make the portions big some of the filler and/or dough masks some of the ingredients. The tripe was disappointing as it was chewy, it needed a few more hours of braising.nnService is pretty quick, we went on a weekday morning so it wasn't as busy as it gets on a weekend. The tables are fairly close to each other so it does get crowded and noisy, which is the usual ambiance for dim sum. The price of most dim sum dishes was about $10. Tea service is $1.60/pp.
Third times the charm, this place is difficult to get into. I tried a few times over the weekend, but it was full both times. Finally I went in a Thursday afternoon, I only had to wait for the table to get cleaned up.nnFood was as good as I remembered, definitely one of the best in the greater Vancouver area. Siu mai is one of the best in the city, and their jumbo size dumplings are all very tasty.nnService was not bad a little better than your average Chinese standard service Decoration definitely.nnDecor is well maintained, still look presentable.nnDefinitely will come back, but on a weekday
This is a Cantonese dim sum restaurant we’ve wanted to try for a long time, but it’s usually fully booked due to how popular it is. We finally managed to visit.nThe interior is comfortable and clean, with a nice atmosphere, but the space is very cramped. The tea was fragrant and enjoyable. I ordered pu’er tea this time.nFor food, the first dish that arrived was their so-called “special” beef brisket rice noodle roll. It was basically cheung fun with beef brisket, tendon, and tripe. The combination itself is great, and I initially wanted to rate this dish quite highly. However, the tripe had a slight off smell, as if it wasn’t cleaned thoroughly, which was a big drawback.nWe also ordered the scallop shrimp dumplings. These were just average — the wrapper was a bit thick, and there was a slight sour note that we didn’t particularly enjoy. The deep-fried shrimp dumplings were better: the filling was decent and the dish felt more interesting overall.nOverall, the food is acceptable, and I’d come back if I were nearby. However, I wouldn’t go out of my way or wait in long lines again.
My family comes here all the time because we love the food. Our favourites are the chicken feet and egg plant with shrimp paste on top! This time we tried their gelatin desserts and they were a big hit, highly recommend! We got the goji berry with lychee and the match coconut milk. Of course we also got mango pudding but this is also an all time fave!nnNote: it’s always busy especially on the weekends, so make resos!
Very crowded as we were there on Sunday morning. Their sui mai is huge! The size of the sauce dish. Fried durian balls are good. The chairs were back to back with another table. They gave us the bill right after we had our last bite as there were lots of people waiting at the door and outside of the restaurant.
