Story

Looking for a place to hold that special occasion, then let West Thunder make it a memorable one for you and your guests. Our Chef provides full catering for any size of group: Showers / Baptism Luncheons, Anniversaries, Retirements, Wedding Receptions, Breakfast / Lunch Menus, Christmas Banquets, plus much more!!! We offer a variety of programs to suit the needs of the community, whether it be recreational or leisure activities. So if you're looking for something a little low-key or a little more upbeat, we may have just the program you are looking for. The Westfort Community Centre is THE gathering place on Edward St. South in Thunder Bay for residents, families and friends to get involved and connect with one another. It is also in partnership with the Lakehead Japanese Cultural society. There are programs and events available for retirement participation and/or rooms available for your private event. I personally became a member because I eat a delicious home style breakfast on Tuesdays and lunch on Fridays at the Centre. 2 solid thumbs up & 5 stars for this Community Centre.

Went here for the rehearsal dinner few days before my daughters wedding, & the food was so delicious Heard lots of great reviews, regarding the luncheons they have here!!

West Thunder Community Centre is ideal for parties. You can rent the whole gigantic double-gym or a single gym for parties. For kid's birthday parties, you can bring in any size of inflatables, as the ceiling height is very tall, and even a single gym is large. There are mats and lots of extra toys available too. The staff is friendly, and aims to please, and there are additional rooms, and a kitchen too, if needed. There are lots of special events going on here, very frequently, for all age groups. Just book ahead because they book up often months in advance.
