I first met Dr. Trester at the Planted Expo in Vancouver in the summer of 2022 where he was providing free assessments. As someone who has suffered from long-term chronic back, neck, and hip pain I was curious to see what he would say. After a quick evaluation he quickly spotted several issues that I had already been aware of and assured me that he could help. His initial assessment gave me the confidence to give the West 1st Chiropractic Wellness Centre a try and they have not disappointed. From my initial visit onwards the care I've received has been first rate. Dr. Trester takes the time to not only provide treatment but to educate his patients thoroughly regarding the treatment they're receiving and how it works. He has a great bedside manor and puts patients at ease. Appointment bookings, re-scheduling, billing are all incredibly easy and create a worry free environment that allows you to focus on the treatment. I have been receiving treatment for the past 7 months and went from having chronic pain to enjoying a mostly pain free life! While I have completed the bulk of my treatment, I will continue to go to Dr. Trester and the West 1st Chiropractic Wellness Centre on a periodic basis to ensure I maintain the wonderful progress I've made!
I’ve been seeing Dr. Trester for a couple months now to prevent my scoliosis from getting worse. I didn’t really notice major differences at first, but after a couple of visits, I started being more flexible, and my body is less tense. At the end of my first treatment plan which was about half a year, the x-ray showed promising improvement - the upper part of my neck was straighter compared to my initial xray before treatment. In terms of service, Dr. Trester and his wife are very welcoming, friendly, and they’re clear with the direction of the treatment that they’re going with, which I appreciate. If you’re looking to improve your overall well-being, hesitate no more and come to Dr. Trester’s office!
I have been seeing Dr.Trester for over a year for some serious neck issues. Not only is there major improvements, but he is the kind of person to go above and beyond to support you in your journey. I could not be more thankful to have randomly found his clinic on instagram. If you care about your health and want to take good care of yourself, as the spine is one major component in having a healthy body, he is your guy!!
I spoke to a friend today who was explaining the growth in physio & Chiro practices that insist to sell their treatments in packages & do very short frequent appointments. It reminded me of years ago when I went to Dr Trester. Which is why it made me write this review even though I haven’t been in years, as he was constantly pushing for everyone to come multiple times per week it felt like a pyramid scheme. I had a sore neck & used to visit Dr Trester a couple of times per week for over a year. It never got better until I moved & visited a different Chiro. Her appointments were so much longer & more thorough & so much more effective. And she told me to NOT come back unless I needed her. It felt so unusual to have a Chiro not constantly trying to push me to visit all the time. Dr Trester and his wife are very friendly but I didn’t like how I would book an appointment, & they were always running late so I had to wait for ages to be seen & then my appointment would last less than 5 min. I read all the other reviews before writing this and noticed how Dr Trester always responds to all the negative reviews so I’m fully expecting a response.
Before going to Dr. Trester I was someone who always complained about having back pain, emotional imbalances, headaches, random migraines, eye strains, unrestful sleeps; the list goes on. It wasn't until the end of 2019 I would be experiencing eye strains & migraines for 2 months straight everyday. To give you readers some context, I would be getting eye strains every other 10 minutes in my day, while at work I work 8-9hrs a day 5 days a week & run a business online. Migraines every other 3 days in the month. IMAGINE doing your job and helping people, and every 10 minutes in your day, you get a SHARP needle pain going straight into your eyes and you can't do anything but to turn away, push on your eye to subdue the pain. Not to mention the uncontrollable tears as you’re trying to look and stay professional in your work environment, helping the client in front of you. Impossible. I am forever grateful for a client of mine at my workplace that referred me to Dr. Trester! He knew my lifestyle as a business owner and as well an employee working 8-9 hours a day full time, and some months where I work a month with no days off. Why did it take me this long to seek help from a professional in chiropractic care? I would say I lacked faith and hope. It took a big leap of faith for me to go to his clinic. As I almost had given up on any type of medical treatment and was just going to face living with the list of pains i endured^ LET ME BE CLEAR: I have never received chiropractic treatment until going to Dr. Trester. To be quite honest, I was very nervous. With reassurance & education from Dr. Trester, I learnt more and more about how our bodies all work. He helped me understand my spine & nervous system and how many things can activate all these problems I have had. With an in house x-ray I saw my entire spine and was shocked to see the results. I have only been a client with Dr. Trester for 6 months and have had amazing results. My well being has improved so much from Day 1 of entering the clinic. No more eye strains, headaches, migraines and back pains. Everything takes time and Dr. Trester gives you stretches to do on a daily basis. Be committed and stay consistent. His practice is not like the traditional joint cracking, instead uses a metal instrument that relieves tension. You must trust that in the process, your body is healing! When I first came here I couldn’t sit for too long or stand for too long without feeling pain in my lower back. Once assessed and X-rayed I knew this is the chiropractor I wanted to see. Dr.Trester is very thorough and helped me a lot with my chronic back pains and alignment issues. And it’s very great to get evaluated along the way and see how much of a difference you’ve accomplished. The layout of the whole office is very efficient and friendly. If your looking for a chiropractor that’s very thorough and shows you your progress this is the place. I couldn’t be more happier with my choice to go here.
I have been visiting Dr. Trester for the last seven months and my experience has been nothing but fantastic. I never had chiropractor treatment before and I was very nervous at first. However, Dr. Trester and Shalene were very welcoming on my first visit and quickly put me at ease. Dr. Trester did an X-ray and a comprehensive assessment on my first visit. He is very knowledgeable and friendly; you can tell he truly cares about each of his patent’ well-being. Dr. Trester focuses on the long-term solution and well-being instead of just a quick fix. I have been receiving treatments for seven months, and I see huge improvements in my posture, flexibility and range of motion. Shalene has also been super friendly and welcoming. Always very helpful and accommodating when rescheduling appointments. I’m happy that I found them and going through the treatment. I wish that I had done this sooner.
I'm very happy to have gone under chiropractic care at this clinic! I had severe chronic low back pain because of some injuries I had in the past. I came here in hopes of finding some pain relief. Just after a few adjustment sessions I started to feel better. Then, the more I kept coming to the clinic the more progress I was feeling. Even my posture was getting better. Long story short, after completing my chiropractic plan recommended by Dr Trester, my pain is pretty much gone. I feel like I'm 10 years younger. Thank you very much Dr Trester and Shalene for your continuous support on this journey!
I've been coming here for nearly a year now. Before I did, I was having a LOT of issues with old injuries, chronic pain, depression, etc. It hurt to walk for 10 minutes and most days I hardly moved because of the pain and discomfort. I'd previously been to other chiropractors, physio, etc and felt gaslighted at their Band-Aid approach. Having x-ray proof that my spine was in trouble made me hopeful for the future back then and now the huge difference in new x-rays, plus the fact that I'm not only feeling better physically and mentally, but I'm also on my way to looking better too! I definitely recommend you come here and see for yourself. Lovely people and great results so far.
