Sandwich counter closes 1hr before closing hour - learned the hard way though they were really nice and one of the guy's working there felt bad so he gave me a pastry for free cuz he saw how disappointed I was lol. Hopefully this changes because it would be great to be able to grab a sandwich for dinner. A few seats at the entrance to wait or grab a quick bite. Fresh bagels + several sandwiches to choose from. The owner ? I think it was is a chef of some kind and so the beef and porchetta is seasoned and home made and I look forward to trying it. I had the smoked meat, it's on a baguette and quite a large filling portion, it'll set you back to just under 15$ tx in. I tried the porchetta sandwich and it's delicious! Many people in the area will no doubt know Bossa next door who's famous for their porchetta this can give Bossa a run for its money. They're both good and a little different. The portion is a bit bigger at Wellington which might reflect in the price, lors of flavor, topping is different, the meat is sliced thinner and juicer I'd say. I highly suggest!
If you are in the area and thinking of grabbing a quick bite: this is it! Good and no hassle sandwiches, friendly staffs, clean, counters for you to enjoy your food. They even have some pastries. And don't forget to pick up a bag of bagels freshly made there for a very affordable price.
New bagel spot in Verdun. With Ville Émard Bagel closing their doors not too long ago, they partnered with a local chef and opened their doors here in Verdun, offering fresh daily-made bagels and a variety of sandwiches and baked goods. Overall my experience was positive, owner and staff are friendly and their sandwiches do look really good. Pros: variety, fresh bagels can buy by the dozen Cons: sadly the price point for me. $4 for a simple cream cheese bagel, or $6+ for a hotdog…it seems their sandwich prices are on par with other places nearby, but a quick bite will cost you more than average.
The porchetta and beef wellington sandwiches are amazing. It's a must try! I keep coming back for more.
Best Sandwich in Montreal! We had 2 different sandwich and both were made fresh, the bread was delicious and the filling combinations perfect. The guy who owns it chatted and was friendly and passionate about providing good food and service. Highly recommended!
I always give a chance to newcomers in the restaurant business. It's not easy I know. This restaurant has to be the lowest in my reviews. The smoked meat bagel had no taste whatsoever and the fries were as bland as could be. I love smoked meat but where the hell did they get this one? The fries? Frozen of course with no taste at all. Sorry Bagel Wellington, you have a LOT of WORK ahead of you.
Went in for the first time today with my daughter for a smoked meat bagelwich and a cream cheese bagel. I was not disappointed. Let me first say I very rarely write restaurant reviews, and every single one is well deserved. The atmosphere is dictated by Jimmy, the owner, who gives me an old school New York City vibe that is rare to find in Montreal, and it was a fantastic way to kick things off! What makes me write reviews is when a place doesn't cut corners on the little things. For example, I unwrapped my sandwich, and to start things off, the parchemin paper was nice and thick, no cheap stuff, which I appreciate. They could've easily saved a couple bucks going with lesser quality and most people wouldn't bat an eye, but I noticed. Also, the pickle and the cabbage slaw that were on the bagel were also very tasty and complemented the sandwich very well, another thing some places don't give much thought to. Nothing crazy, just good solid tried and true flavours that will never go out of style. In short : my sandwich was fantastic and I had to resist ordering a second one. Now the thing that surprised me the most wasn't my own bagel, it was my daughter's. I've tried cream cheese bagels probably a dozen times before and never cared for it. I'm not sure what kind of cream cheese most places use, but it always has the same taste to it. This one was different. I took a bite and absolutely loved it, it had a depth of flavor that ressembled Crème Fraîche as opposed to sour cream. If this is what cream cheese is supposed to taste like, now I understand what all the hype is about. Will be ordering plenty more in the future! Be sure to give Jimmy's place a try, let's work together to make it a Verdun staple!
Finally a decent bagel store in Verdun!! The texture of these bagels are absolutely perfect. When you bite into them you don't feel like you're biting into a piece of toast. The toppings of Poppy and sesame seeds is very generous. The bagels remind me of days of old. We're delicious bagels like these 50 years ago. Were made on St Lawrence Street which people now refer to as the Maine
Awesome smoked meat and very friendly staff ! I’ve been searching for a good smoked meat place in the area bagels too and I’ve finally found the best place ! Thank you guys for the great experience and kind service
