Visitors will discover the reasons why people from around the world have immigrated to this region of Canada - whether they came for love, education, a better life, a new job or to find freedom.

The museum is a wealth of local history. The floor plan flows smoothly telling the history of the region. All exhibits are very well presented. The beer exhibit is really cool. If you live anywhere in the area or are visiting the area, please do yourself a favor and stop for a visit.

We were on vacation staying with family who'd recently moved to the area. The Doon Village is amazing with people dressed in period costume. They were very informative and helpful. You will need a long time to wander around. Unfortunately we didn't get to see the rest of the village or museum due to torrential rain. However, when we return to Canada we will be coming back here, and have told our relatives about this wonderful museum. Highly recommended.

The museum is well laid out and innovative with how they display information. I love the village the best though. People in period appropriate clothing will talk to you and take you through the houses and stores, explaining what life was like in KW's early years. It's an entertaining way to learn for any age.

Specifically went to the museum to see the exhibit Trailblazing - Women in Canada since 1867. This exhibit was really well done with videos, interactive displays and artifacts. While I was there I also visited the Heritage Village which is always fun to wander around in. Overall, I spent three hours there and the price of $11(adult admission) was very reasonable.

During summer days, the historical village offers fun activities every half hour. Their costumed interpreters are very knowledgeable and relate very well to my kids. Often, the interpreters invite the kids to participate in an activity they are doing. The museum is great too. My five year old likes that there are toy stations throughout, while my ten year old loves the fashion history exhibit. They also have a craft area, play train set, and small restaurant that are great when the kids need a break or I need a coffee!
