A bit old building, but with unique architecture style. Have a lot of services inside. There are also a lot of parking spots, but it is not free during the weekdays sat-sun free. Inside the building a lot of place to sit and read, work on laptop, charge your devices. I like 2 sunrooms there. But I put 4 stars for the weird smells I feel there. I was there 2 times and it like not really very bad, but not too comfortable. I goes to different lib branches in Waterloo, Kitchener and Cambridge, and never smell it somewhere else.
As a local business, Express Linen Laundry truly appreciates organizations like Waterloo Public Library that make such a positive impact in the community. The library is always clean, well organized, welcoming, and staffed by friendly, knowledgeable people. It's a wonderful place for learning, studying, and connecting with others. Thank you for providing such an outstanding service to the Waterloo community I recommended.
Lots of books for kids of all genres and age groups, saw some french ones as well. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I like that they have alternative activities for the kids such as a Lego table and other toys. They also have puzzles, games and a scavenger hunt to keep them busy for hours. The adult section has a very large nonfiction section compared to fiction but I was able to find some books I wanted to borrow. They offer ebooks as well according to the website. Just a heads up that they do not have public parking, it is permit parking only. Lots of public washrooms and computers available to rent to use as well if needed. Checking out books is also very easy as they have a self scan option.
My daughter once forgot her teddy bear here. The staff found it, and took many photos of the little bear exploring the library and reading many books, as if it was alive. Safe to say my daughter was amazed when she got her toy back and saw the pictures of its adventures.
The Library is massive!!! The librarians were so helpful to find books and were warm. They seemed like they enjoyed working there. There's a space dedicated to children's books down stairs which is cool and well lit. I am yet to fully explore the young adult and adult fiction section but they look promising. All in all, I would definitely recommend you taking a visit to such a wonderful place. Blessings
