This place is great to watch your favorite sport team, or any sports. They have plenty of TV's all over the establishment. The beer, wine and mixed drinks selection is very good. The bar is big and can accommodate a huge crowd, it's also very efficient. If you don't feel like getting a table, you can seat and also eat at the bar. If you go in the summer, take advantage of their outdoor patio. The service was phenomenal, our waitress went above and beyond to correct the kitchen mistakes. Their food menu is very limited, and the food is just average at best. Other than the wings and onion ring, nothing really stood out to anyone in my party. There's plenty of free parking to accommodate any size party. Parking: Free parking in front and back of the restaurant. It also conveniently has 2 entrances, in front and back.
Chose Warrens Ale House for Mother’s Day brunch before heading to the arboretum because they took reservations. Our party of 8 was sat right away. Service was a little slow, but expected with the crowds today. Server was very friendly. They struggled with temps of our food, but otherwise things were pretty tasty. Pretzel and cheese curds were good, Brie was underwhelming. The Chilaquiles were excellent. The Broke Yoke was ok - but the pork belly tasted like dry chicken. The potatoes that accompanied it were cold. The shrimp Benedict didn’t have any hollandaise sauce, just egg yolks. The French toast came with very cold sausage, which the server was quick to replace. Maybe lunch choices would have been better than brunch.
I'd actually say 4.5 stars. Many of the craft beer selections were WAY over priced. Wife and I had dinner here at 6 pm on a Saturday. We had a 6 pm reservation, arrived early, and still were seated promptly. Big beer selection. For dinner I chose one of the specials, the sautéed Lake Superior Whitefish. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked, served with a pasta and vegetable mixture that had just enough seasoning and red pepper flakes for heat. The plus here is that there were two rather large fillets, enough for another meal at home! My wife had the Burgatory burger, which was good, and again, large enough to bring half of it home. The fries were not very good, somewhat over cooked. It's always been my experience that when potatoes are cut fresh for fries, the wrong kind of potato results in overcooking and sogginess. Drinks were nothing special, I had a bottle of Edmund Fitzgerald, a favorite of mine, the lady, a rum and coke as there was a special on drinks. I would still definitely recommend, but substitute something else for fries.
Service was a bit slow so we moved to the bar. Great service at the bar. Highly recommend the Chicken Keto Bowl. So full of flavor. My husband had the Garlic Shrimp Tacos. He didn't think there was any garlic and to be honest the Shrimp looked like it was out of can. We definitely won't be ordering those again. We ordered the Italian Beef Eggrolls. They were just ok. We've definitely had better. I would definitely be back for the CKB.
Good food with healthier choices. I really liked that for an Ale House. Really enjoyed my Salmon with Riced Cauliflower.j
This place not only has a good selection of drinks, but it also has surprisingly delicious, high-end food! I’m always surprised by how awesome the food is—please see the pictures. I went the other day because I had a coupon for a free dessert since it’s my birthday month. I went and got the shrimp tacos, which are my favorite, French onion soup which is the most legit I’ve tasted in DuPage county, hot tea, and the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bread Pudding, which was life-affirming. My husband always gets the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich with no slaw, bc he’s hardcore like that. I’ve had it, too, and I think it’s great with the slaw to cut some of the heat. It’s a great place to go for lunch, dinner, drinks, and I think they have a trivia night, too. The women’s bathroom has a handicapped stall and one or two regular stalls. Very clean. You can totally bring kids here, too, which is nice. They’ve got fries and chicken tenders for the persnickety eaters. from the Special Needs Mom
Both times I went, it was a Sunday afternoon and it was not busy. The staff was very friendly. This is the type of place you go to sit and enjoy your food. There was alot of outside seating, which is great when the weather is nice. The first time I had the schnitzel sandwhich. It was really good. The red cabage sauerkraut had a nice crunch to it. The red apple slices on it provided a surprising sweetness that balanced out the flavors. The fries were the thin cut ones and were really tasty. I really enjoyed the overall flavor combinations. The second time I had the Burgatory sandwhich with chicken. I also tried the Crispy Pork Belly appetizer. It was good, but not very shareable.
Their Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich was tasty! It ranks highly on my list of chicken sandwiches I’ve put inside of my mouth, chewed, swallowed, and digested. Popeyes is still somehow the best chicken sandwich. Good vibe there with enough space where it didn’t feel super crowded. Didn’t get to try any drinks, just chicken, and the chicken was good.
Placed a curbside pickup and when I arrived and called a woman answered a rudely said that they don’t do curbside pickup and that’d I’d need to come inside. I did have a coat and had my dog with me because I specifically ordered curbside pickup per their website. When I walked inside it took 3 minutes for someone to greet me and they were not friendly. They either need to re-educate their staff or change the wording on their website because they do NOT offer curbside pickup.
Bummed about my visit tonight. I was jonesing for their Cubano sandwich, but it was no longer on the menu. Server Blake was fine. I ordered a Peach Mojito-- it was incredibly tart. Seemed like all sour mix. Maybe the Flor de Caña was extra dry, but no discernable peach, lime or mint. After a sip or two, I asked Blake if this was the correct order, he took it back and brought another of the same, which was a little sweeter. And charged me for the second drink! My burger came as ordered by without the lemon aioli. It looked sloppy with a scoop of fries in fragments. And a side of elote came chilled like a salad, which is a first. WTH? Noisy trivia night, but no surprise there. I don't think I'll be back.
