Horrible place to go shopping. Think you're always going to get in a fight when just walking in the front doors. Place is usually filthy too, empty cans and containers everywhere, etc. they also now have music blaring that deterred the homeless population for about a week, but now they're back and don't care.
Worst Walmart I've ever delivered to. The washroom is disgusting the unloader are extremely inefficient and slow. Not being able to park here is very stupid as I can see only one other place for a small out of the way town you think they would be more accommodating to the truckers who bring their stuff. No parking no trucks no stuff.
I wish I could avoid going to this store, but I have too for certain things. The customer service from a lot of the employees is non-existent. It always feels dirty. The front is always packed with homeless people so it reeks of alcohol, cigarettes, and whatever else. Adding to that, this location has decided that they need to blast opera music from AM to PM to reduce loitering honestly I barely works, and have instead received fines from the city because of how loud they play it. Disgusting place to shop. Do not go here if you can avoid it.
Watching the cashiers sell mouthwash to the homeless and addicted is awful.Directing them to a certain till to line up a make the purchase. They the staff are only contributing to the problem of people intoxicated and loitering.
Thompson is lucky to have a Wal-Mart. It allows for affordable grocery and retail shopping in the North. Unfortunately, there is often a group of homeless people hanging around the interest smoking and/or drinking alcohol. Outbursts and altercations are not uncommon. The store, law enforcement, and local government are all ineffective at dealing with the problem in a lasting way. For this reason, many who can afford to do so choose to shop at other stores in Thompson. Some people don't feel safe walking in/out of Wal-Mart alone, but I have always been fine with it.
