I’ve had repeated negative experiences at both the Bradford and Newmarket Walmart locations due to inconsistent information and poor training on return policies. On two separate occasions, I asked cashiers before purchasing whether an item could be returned, and was told “2 weeks.” But when I actually tried to return the items within that timeframe, the customer service desk made up excuses to deny the return.nnThis shows a lack of consistency and proper training across departments. Customers should be able to rely on the information given by staff, especially when making a purchase decision. Instead, it feels like policy is ignored or twisted depending on who you speak to.nnWalmart needs to better train their employees on clear and consistent return policies, so customers aren’t misled or inconvenienced.
I’ve had a few frustrating experiences at the Walmart in Newmarket. The customer service really isn’t great most of the time it’s hard to find someone to help, and when you do, the associates often come across as lazy or uninterested. They seem more focused on chatting with each other than actually assisting customers.nnOn top of that, when an issue comes up, there’s usually no manager around to handle it. I waited a long time just to speak with someone in charge, but no one seemed to know where the manager was or when they’d be back. It really shouldn’t be this difficult to get basic help.nnA review of the customer service training might be a good idea, along with better scheduling to ensure there’s always a supervisor or senior-level employee available to deal with situations as they arise. Definitely not the level of service you’d expect from a major retailer like Walmart.
You can always count on seeing something unusual at Walmart—like the random car in the parking lot. The store layout was a bit confusing and quite different from what I’m used to, which made it harder to navigate. The staff was okay, but it didn’t seem like they worked well together or cared much for teamwork. That said, the person who helped us was fantastic and really made a difference. The kiosk machines for printing images took longer than expected, which was a bit frustrating, and the wait to pay was also longer than it should have been. Overall, not the smoothest experience but we were able to get everything we needed. Including lemons for the wedding day!
This store usually cancels my order even if it’s available at the store. Has happened multiples times now. I have gone immediately to the store and bought the items. And even if my husband and I order the same item, somehow they honour his purchase but cancel mine. So not sure how their backend works. Super disorganized, compared to the ones in Thornhill or further south
I was going through some shorts and tights for my girls and I had to go through the pile to get their size. It was already a mess and this older lady who works there yells at me to stop making a mess and to take it one by one to check the size. They are getting paid to keep the store stoppable for customers. I also work at a retail store that gets messy and we don't complain because that is why we get paid to keep the store clean and organized. I don’t expect the customers to put things away where it belongs or to hang stuff back because I know some won’t and that’s why we are there. I don’t know what her problem was but I was caught off guard. Seems like she just wanted to get paid and not do any work.
