Small elementary school. Decent standards. Nice big play ground. City park. Good neighborhood. Quiet area with diversity.

My favorite teacher Mrs.Frizzle worked here with her magical bus, we had tons of interesting Feild trips and I'm happy that I didn't stay home those days.

I remember they wouldn't give kids an F grade due to political correctness, instead giving them I for "Incomplete". Perhaps all schools do that now, but it's quite silly. I disliked the playground hierarchy when I attended this school as a kid. Basically grade 4 and under are given the fun part of the playground at recess - the jungle gym, slides, swings. Grade 5-8 are given a big, empty field and a tiny gazebo with a short length of monkey bars (able to accomodate perhaps 4 or 5 students). That's 4 years of basically having nothing to work with at recess. If you're athletic and popular, you can play soccer. Otherwise, your only option is to wander the field like a lost soul. However, you're not allowed to wander too far or wander beside the school where the teachers can't see you, which basically means you have to stand somewhere doing nothing if you play by the rules. As a student grade 5 and up, I actually got in trouble for going to use the swings. I was told the swings are meant for the younger children. I mean, c'mon. Are you seriously gonna tell me that a 10 or 11 year old kid is "too old" to use the swings? Speaking of recess, they'd force us to go outside and play when it was -50ºC or colder with the windchill. I begged the teachers to let me stay inside, I even volunteered to quietly sit at my desk. Anything besides going out in the blistering cold. Alas, my plea was denied. You're gonna go outside and you're gonna like it. Ironically, the teachers stayed inside on the most frigid days. Students, however, were not afforded such comfort. Teachers would punish the entire class with detention if a few repeat offenders were misbehaving. They'd also lose their cool at times and break down. There were scuffles between students from time to time, but bullying and violence were fairly tame. When I attended around 15 years ago, I didn't notice any issues with smoking, drugs, or sex. The students were usually fine, just mainly immature and disobedient. There are definitely worse schools in the city.
