Get a quote! I have done business with Wagler Electric in excess of 15 years. Tim is brilliant at choosing the right fixture for the job and up until recently their pricing has always been fair. However, I contacted them to change two motion sensor switches at the house I built 10 years ago that they did the wiring on. The issues I had were as follows: First it took nearly a month to get the work done, when they completed the work it was sub standard...which in fairness I brought to their attention and they agreed and issued a credit promptly. However, the parts that were installed were extremely expensive which caused me to investigate the cost of the parts. In doing so I learned on Amazon a part they charged $205.37 was available for $89.00. I brought this to Richard's attention and he said well of course it's going to be cheaper on Amazon. I thought good point, next I had a quote off the street from a local Electrical wholesaler and their price for the part to a stranger with no account was $115.41. That's nearly a 80% markup on the one part. The second had a 35% markup, which is acceptable. Think about it....For the record, I'm sure Wagler with their buying power receives a greater discount than a stranger off the street, don't you think? While I have a great deal of respect for the Company and I don't expect to purchase parts at wholesale, I think a nearly 80% markup is too much. My only other thought is Wagler is a large Company and they could be moving a way from doing a nickle and dime jobs for single property owners...hence, get a quote! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Further to my aforementioned comments. After my review was read by Wagler Electric, Tim, Richard's brother called and explained what had happened. What happened is they ordered the parts for my job from their supplier. However, there supplier failed to inform them that they did not have access to those parts and would have to purchase the parts from a third party. There supplier did that, then added on their mark up. Next Wagler Electric added their markup on, which I have no problem with..... but since Wagler Electric had no idea what had happened prior in the food chain, they didn't know that the cost of that part was becoming totally non-competitive. I unfairly accused Wagler Electric of gouging me when in fact it was their supplier who was the culprit. Had the supplier done the right thing and informed Wagler Electric that they couldn't be competitive on those parts because they didn't have access to them, then none of this would have happened. Their greed created this issue. To Tim's credit he did help me out on another job and did it at no cost in an effort to resolve the bad feelings. I am withdrawing my criticism of Wagler Electric. They are still the same Company that I started doing business with 15 years ago and the quality of the work and ethics remain first class.
Professional, timely, and honest! Excellent company to get electrical work done!
