Absolutely loved the matcha here. The matcha is smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced—not bitter at all, with a clean, authentic flavor that shows real quality. You can tell it’s prepared with care. The texture is creamy and comforting, making it the perfect drink to slow down and enjoy. Combined with the calm atmosphere and attentive service, Wagashi Tea House is a must-visit for matcha lovers. I’ll definitely be back for another cup.
I just returned from a lifelong dream of going to see Lake Louise and the Banff area. Surprisingly one of the most memorable was the Wagashi Tea House in Canmore. A neighbor recommended it and we ended up eating there 3 times in our 5 day visit to the area!! My breakfast favorites were the hot matcha latte and the Onigiri smoked salmon and the Onigiri shrimp, yuzu, mayo, shiso ~ but everything we tasted was delicious. They have a small seating area within a garden center, so make sure to make a reservation!
The server was very attentive and she recommended us a very delicious onigiri special menu. I personally recommended this place for their delicious Japanese food along with the delicious tea. Also, the chef himself constantly checked in with all of the customers. I think this show a true passion in what they are doing.
A warm and peaceful place, perfect for relaxing.nThe food was excellent. The poke bowl was fresh and flavorful, and the grilled salmon was perfectly cooked. The mochi was soft and delicious, and the Shin Cha tea was wonderfully fragrant and refreshing. I was very impressed with both the taste and the service.
Delicious Japanese food served very quickly but does get busy so either be prepared to wait not necessarily that long usually or book ahead. The Poke bowls or Bento trays are a must! Very friendly and efficient staff members. Have been twice so far during our Canmore stay and we're not done yet!
