Our room was basic, but clean and fresh on our arrival. Front desk was easy to work with and Famous Josh even snapped a pic with us in front of the Vulcan sign which is in front of the Star Trek exhibit right across from the Inn…. Tina and Bill at the bar were absolutely fantastic - as well as some of the local regulars like Shawn, Corbin, Darlene and Grant! If you’re looking for a solid time and you’re in the Vulcan area - I’d definitely recommend staying here.
The rooms were a very good rate. The hotel rooms were average there were some issues like cracked tiles in the bathroom, some of the weird was setup unusual. The bar was good, we were there and they had free pool, and the atmosphere was great. The rooms unfortunately smelled of smoke, and there was obviously several attempts to clean smoke damage off the walls. In general the staffing was poor, no one was at the desk so you have to call the number to get anyone. No one checked up on you do you had to go to the bar every time you wanted anything. Housekeeping decided to knock on our door at 8am when we requested a late check out at 11am and we had a sign on the door. We requested adjoining rooms when we booked weeks ahead. The front desk person tried to move us multiple times to non-adjoining rooms even. It’s probably the best hotel in town, but it’s no 5 star hotel.
The new sushi restaurant in this hotel is less than mediocre. 0/10 recommend. I don’t know what was expected in a small town, but Edo would have been more realistic. Expect artificial crab meat in every roll. Sweet soy sauce glaze on every roll & the nigiri to come warm & with seeds sprinkled on top. Came while visiting family in town, will never return.
Amazing staff amazing rooms and great location only 10 mins from sisters farm I can't wait to visit again soon!!!Rooms: 4/5
No alarm clock, very very old inside, lights did not work, bathtub plug rusted out and missing, tiny tv, whole hotel smelt awful, bed was superuncomfortable. Posatives: Staff nice and helpful, Hot water is good in the shower.
This was an inexpensive stay with the basic amenities. Floor was recently redone with vinyl laminate, so it was nice. The rest reminds me of the 80's style and I loved it! The Star Trek exhibit is just across the street which is the main reason why I came here. Bit of a Trekkie
Disgusting! To start off my stay they don't turn on the heaters in your room until you're given your key. having to stay in a room starting from below 0 degrees was a great start. There was some kind of black sludge or mold in the bathroom, there was mold in the fridge and the remotes were coated with some sort of sauce from someone else's chicken wing fingers. During a pandemic, cleanliness is key and this place is clearly not. Find somewhere else or keep driving, I do not recommend staying here.
It's a older hotel as expected. It's clean and the beds are comfortable. The continental breakfast is a small glass front cooler with a some eggs, day old muffins, and Costco yogurt didn't check expiry. I will say, it has one the best shower pressures I have ever experienced in my 40+ years. If you are a Seinfeld fan, I would consider this shower head one of Newman's black market heads.
I visited this motel and very nicely managed especially new sushi restaurant was so nice definitely recommend.Rooms: 5/5
It one of the worst experiences of my life! The little Asian man/child was very hard to understand. No food anywhere to eat. We needed to do some laundry and the machines were broken so we used the staff ones. It was quite late and we were not disturbing anyone. The doors were open and there was no staff to be found. I offered to pay him for the "inconvenience". But he just told us to check out at 11:00am the next morning. By 11:02 he had called the RCMP. We were leaving without any trouble. That was quite the experience! Also, the place was filthy and there never seemed to be anyone around to talk to. I won't ever come back or refer ANYONE to this dump!
