Talk about mouth watering food and exquisite vibes!! Viva is THE best restaurant in DuPont. And one of the best Mexican restaurants in the Tacoma area. For one, the atmosphere in Viva is so well due to the stone structure and hand painted tiles. But also because the decorations all around, all the textures and colors just make it feel like paradise! The prices are cheap compared to the amount and quality of food and the menu is not your typical Mexican restaurant menu; Viva has a knack for home grown ingredients and recipes. Their alcoholic drink menu is also stellar! The wait is never long, even when it’s busy and the staff are always happy to be there. You’ll Put this on your favorite restraunts list after your first visit!
The staff is extremely nice! Our hostess, who was also our waitress, talked with my two little girls for a long time and listened to all their stories! The restaurant is clean and the service is pretty fast. There are no free chips and salsa at this restaurant like most other Mexican sit-down places, so be prepared to pay if you'd like some. Also no kids menus to color on, but my kids had fun looking at all the decor and finding the different animals. The food is a little over priced in my opinion. You can get the same item, but a bigger portion, for less, at other establishments.
Our experience was very pleasant. We were seated quickly and the waitress that attended us named Melissa was super friendly she had a huge smile and was super nice. We were pleased with our food but the best part was the service we got. Overall we were glad everything went well. Thank you!
I frequently eat lunch here with my work colleagues and the food and service are always great! One thing to note is that you will not get the endless chips and salsa that you are probably accustomed to. These are items on the menu at this restaurant. I'm sure I'll be eating here again soon!Food: 5/5
This place was pleasantly surprising. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The staff, friendly and genuinely nice. I had the carne asada tacos with beans and rice. The tacos were good, but could use a bit more seasoning. The salsa served with it, however was fresh and flavorful, it made the tacos brilliant. The refried beans were delicious, albeit a bit over salted, and the rice was fluffy and tasty. My wife had the shrimp enchiladas, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She also had the black beans, which she thought were average, but good. My mother-in-law had the Molle. She absolutely raved about them. Said it was the best and most authentic Molle she has ever had, in the US!
Soo.. I'm a huge foodie, not to mention 'Mexican-American' and have traveled all through México. I have to say I was very disappointed in the food. The salsas all 3 were horrible. Pico de gallo tasted like refrigerator & had a lot of onion. I had the mole enchiladas & that sauce was way over powering & almost hard to eat. The chunks of chicken were not a good texture for an enchilada. It was a little pricey for the quality of the food. I wish I had better news. The place cute though
Came for both lunch and dinner. Staff is super nice! Food is amazing. Very accommodating for us and our needs. Clean bathrooms. Fried rice is on all the points.
Wow what a cool place. Staff is exceedingly friendly, responsive but allows you to eat at your own pace. The mole enchiladas are amazing. Stuffed with perfectly cooked chicken, and just the perfect amount of kick in the sauce.
Delicious Meal, Tasty Margaritas, Friendly Staff! We just moved to the area and have already visited twice. Margaritas were excellent, on the rocks and frozen. Salsas have a really good flavor, and bean burritos were super tasty. Our server, William, was friendly and professional and the real reason we decided to return the next day for a late lunch. Atmosphere is also clean and inviting. We loved everything about this restaurant. I did notice there aren't many vegan options, the rice is cooked in chicken broth, btw. We had wanted to invite vegan/dietary-restricted friends here. If they upped their game in this area--they'd surely be 5++. Nonetheless, we'll eat here often.
This was our favorite restaurant when we lived in WA. The food, drinks, and service was always so good we would sometimes go once a week. The atmosphere and music made the dinner experience even better. This place never disappointed its service even during COVID times. I wish we didn’t have to move just because we miss the friends we made here. No restaurant will ever be as good as DuPont Viva Mexican Restaurant!
