This is a tough review to write. I sent them a pair of Dayton's in slightly worse shape than my back up pair. I blew a sole on these so is inevitable that my spares will too. It took just over 7 weeks and $311 to get them back including the ToughToe. The downsides: 7 weeks is a lot. I don’t plan to wear these with snowshoes, so I'm not sure why they left a 1/4" platform around the heal. It looks stupid, and 100 will catch way more mud and concrete. These are boots I bought in 2017 for industrial work. They've been covered in grease, concrete, diesel, degreaser and sodium chloride for up to 23,000 steps a day. Great boots and great job on refitting the boots. If they make 5 more years, that's still a bargain. ....I just don't like the heel detail or the delay.
Excellent shopping experience! I sent old boots for resoling and refurbishment, was quickly consulted, and the major work they performed was soon complete. Once returned to me, these boots have exceeded my hopes for fit, quality, and style. Excellent work Matt!
Needed my work boots repaired same day as we live over 2 hours away from Nelson. The repairs were done same morning I brought them in. The quality of work was amazing, better than new! Very friendly staff and extraordinary cobbler. The selection and quality of footwear is better than any box store with very competitive pricing. I have found my new footwear store.
I will start this review by stating that unlike others, I do not throw out 5 star reviews very often. If a company gets 5 stars from me, they have earned it in my opinion. I was very pleased with some recent repairs I’ve had done by this shop. I mailed them my boots and was contacted by phone as soon as they received them. We reviewed my concerns and agreed on the work to be done. They warned me that due to their backlog of work the repairs would take several weeks in the end it was about 8 weeks, I have a back up pair and wasn’t concerned about the potential delay. When the repairs were complete they called me to review the work done and sort our payment. They arrived back in the mail a couple of days later. The boots were expertly repaired, cleaned up and dressed, and they threw in some new laces. The price was extremely reasonable in my opinion. Finding a reliable boot repair shop that you can trust is getting very hard these days. I have no hesitation in recommending them to others, I will certainly send any other repairs I need done their way. The only downside was the wait, but expert service you can trust is worth the wait.
In this modern era of throw away fashion reliable cobblers are few and very far between. I took my beloved Clark’s Wallabees here to inquire about them being re-soled and lo! The folks at DeVitos did a superb job. The repair was excellent and done within 10 days, all for a surprisingly reasonable price. They also repaired a few stitches and re-treated the leather. Good as new! I hardly ever write online reviews but these folks deserve it for sure. They also have a nice selection of heritage boots. Thank you!
Vince DeVito Shoes is an incredible locally owned and operated shoe store dealing with repairs and sales. There service was fantastic, friendly, and very knowledgeable. If that's something that's important to you than I'd recommend a visit!
I had a pair of European mountain boots that had served me well but wore out pre-maturely. Sent some pictures to Matt and he said it was worth trying to fix them. They came back better than new, and the rands more bullet proof than the originals. I am so happy with the results!! I live very far from Nelson but I remember growing up there and the Devito brand was prevalent then and still is today. You must send your boots here if they need repair. look no further.
The customer service and knowledge of footwear fit, footwear repair, footwear gossip, footwear history and footwear of the future at this place is incredible! Let me explain....no, there is too much, let me sum up, if you want to go somewhere and leave feeling confident in your purchase or repair then this is the place.
