Victoria Park is a true gem in the heart of the city. The lush green trees and beautiful waterfalls create a peaceful oasis in the midst of the hustle and bustle of daily life. I always feel rejuvenated after a visit to this park and highly recommend it to anyone in need of a little nature therapy. The walking trails are well-maintained and offer a variety of scenic routes to choose from. Overall, Victoria Park is a must-see for anyone visiting the area.
Very well kept, be prepared for a lot of stairs if you want to explore the whole park. A lot of different trails you can explore. Cannot believe how beautiful and well kept the overall park is for the amount of people who visit. Climbing the stairs and walking along the trails up top have awesome views rather than just walking down below. Atleast two waterfalls to be seen as well.
This park turned out to be a real find on the way to Halifax. Big park where you can spend the whole day. The waterfalls were almost without water due to the dry season. But the area is very beautiful, well-groomed, with beautiful paths and stairs.
Visited in April so there was still some snow on the ground. The path to get to the falls is beautiful. There are many trails if you like hiking. This place would make for a wonderful pre wedding shoot location. Jacob’s
This park is about 130 years old. It’s a beautiful well maintained urban woodland park spans across 3000 acres. It has many boardwalks. These boardwalks make waterfalls Waddell and Howe are easily accessible and provide an exciting backdrop for photos of family and friends. It has washrooms but this park is not very wheelchair friendly. Very tall pine trees and lots of squirrels and birds. It has a good parking lot and many entrances. If you are looking for some workout, you might wanna check out Jacob's ladder147 steps and some pull up bars at the top. All steps aren't the same size. It is open all year, but late spring and early summer would be ideal time to visit this park, as water levels would be at its highest. It is about a one and half hour drive from downtown Halifax. It's a beautiful and dynamic urban park. I love it for its natural features, including a dramatic steep-sided gorge, a winding river, cascading waterfalls, and a stately old-growth Eastern Hemlock forest. This place offers endless recreational, cultural and leisure opportunities. These include hiking, photography, birdwatching, day picnics, family gatherings, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, swimming, baseball, cultural events, live music, tennis, cycling and more. If you are in Nova Scotia, and if you are a nature lover, I highly recommend going there.
This is one of the greatest parks in the area and in our opinion the province - it just has so many amazing features like: hills, lookouts, staircases, gazebos, waterfalls, gorges, creeks and rivers, numerous trails, picnic areas, exercise area, and sports/play fields! Definitely worth visiting multiple times just due to the amount of various activities possible.
Great park overall. Could capitalize on the recent storm destruction in September of 2022 in some way. Love the trails here, however I wish that some of the paved areas were maintained a bit better especially near the main entrance of the park.
This is one of the most beautiful places to go to in Nova Scotia I felt serene peace visiting here for the first time I am someone who loves walking in the nature and thus place was perfect for me to read a boom, listen to soothing music, to meditate, to just get lost in the wilderness of nature I took so many pictures to remember this place I can’t recommend this enough I’ll definitely visit here again
What a nice find along the way. We actually had some car trouble and just stopped here to check for local service options. When I looked up, I noticed the park was gorgeous and I took a little stroll to see what was here. I was pleasantly surprised by the nice trails and beautiful scenery. Unfortunately, I had to hit the road to get my vehicle serviced, but we will definitely stop again when in the area. This is a great stop along your journeys or to stop for a picnic if you are lucky enough to live nearby.
Beautiful but busy. Falls were underwhelming in this heatwave, but I saw a few people stop to take a dip nonetheless. I also wonder what makes one well holy while the other simply suffices for wishing?
