Took Canadian Rockies Trip. Next time taking my son's. A must see for Canadians as well as tourists. Gourmet meals, sleeper car comfortable, wonderful staff.
Quick stop on the way between Toronto-Winnipeg. Came out to stretch the legs but otherwise nothing much here. Important from a Via Rail prep perspective
I dropped off my son with 10 minutes to spare before departure. 10 out of 10.
Decent service. Had a really good lunch also for $15 taxes in. I had the salmon.
Tendency for the cross-country train to be late by a few hours. Don't take the train as a primary means of transportation if you mind spending a few days getting there. But the company is delightful, as is the service and the food. And the sleeping accommodations are cozy; don't bring a big suitcase on board, follow basic airplane carry-on logic and you'll have lots of space
