Such a big library, when I heard there is a play area for the kids adult supervision under age 9 I was quite impressed with what I saw. There are 2 levels to the library, the lower level is the main reception area and children area play area and book area there's also a little sitting area for adults while at the okay area for kids.nThe upper level, has adult book sections, with little tables placed in a few spots where you can sit and color a book mark for when reading. There's also a little reception where you're able to get the passwords for the computers they have stationed upstairs as well. They also have a charging booth for electronics and even a music recording studio which I have yet to try .nThe staff have always been lovely to deal with, and there is a security guard who does Rounds but unless kids are screaming staff will come and directly ask them, very politely to use indoor voices.nThe library is located downtown and is accessible to everyone of all backgrounds and situations so they're are occasional homeless people that come to beat the heat or use washrooms but they don't in my experience at least bother anybody and of course using librarian are not permitted for the homelessness but of course they will deal with that on their own accord.nVernon library is also very active in doing activities like book readings with children, subject groups about specific topics see photo for book guide example
Outstanding staff. They are ALWAYS so helpful and cheerful. I have used the library for many years and have experienced the staff going out of their way to assist if needed. We are very fortunate indeed to have this high level of service in Vernon.
Super nice clean library. Well laid out. Kids books & activities, on the ground level, adult books & computers on the 2nd level. Comfortable couches in the kids section. Unfortunately I only found paid parking 1 hour for $1.25. Lots of spots in front of the library. Very polite staff.
Such a great library! Very family friendly, with a large children's section and a kids play area with a climbing area, tables for puzzles and games, colouring, imaginative play kitchen... SUCH a wonderful place for hot and smoky or freezing cold days!
Awesome variety of classes, media and events! Was there for a show this evening and it was well planned, clean and FREE! the bathrooms were clean and readily available. Had a look around and saw tons of activities for all ages - all Free!! Parking was underground and was cheap during the day, and free after 6 city of Vernon parking hours. Definitely coming back with my family!
