One of the best libraries I have visited. Shaped like a coliseum and consisting of 9 floors, it houses a huge collection of books. The rooftop garden was like cherry on the top.
Unassumingly beautiful architechture hides a massive public library, with 8 floors of spacious area filled with books and study nooks. There are areas for studying, surfing the internet, or even just chilling/resting. Going inside VPL is inspiring - it makes me want to study again. Bonus to this amazing library are two coffee shops, and a rooftop 9F with amazing view.
Amazing library with a unique architecture and a huge selection of books. Located at the heart of downtown Vancouver with easy access to public transportation 10 mins walk to Granville and Stadium-Chinatown expo lines. The rooftop patio is a great place to read and relax in summer. The lineup for popular books can get very long though.
Staffs were nice. The building itself is amazing and could be an iconic place for Vancouver. Just only manga’s shelf were always empty lately. Their demand always surplus.
Nicest library I have ever been to. So clean. 9 stories. The roof top area is so pretty.
Love this place, so peaceful and filled with various resources, you can research, edit, create anything here. Especially love the rooftop garden
The library should have more security and even a metal detector. I frequently visit the place with my baby and I have noticed that many strange people come in to bother other people. After the incident at the North Vancouver library, the city should be more cautious.
It's a beautiful place to visit. The library is designed to be productive and creative. Level 8 and 9 are the eye of the library. But there is a significant amount of in need population homeless which might cause inconvenience or assault.
It is such a hidden gem in Downtown. They have 9 floors plus basement. If you are just visiting Vancouver check out their architecture from outside it was place for so many tv shows and also their rooftop and take a nice view of the city. On the way down stop by the 7th floor and check out their Special Collection and find out a little bit more about story.
Great spot to do work or read quietly, helpful staff and a good selection of books, but one of the highlights is definitely the rooftop. Take a break from studying on the roof and look at the city below.
