Value village is a unique thrift experience that brings you back again and again to discover vintage items with beautiful designs. I visit on monthly basis for kitchen wares, candles, furniture and clothing.nnHope they can add a few bins/carts inside shop that ppl can dispose their unwanted items or litter to the proper place to help keep the shop clean & organized.nnP.S. remember bring sth to the donation center so you get a 20% off coupon
Great finds here. I have collected lots of vintage kitchen ware, silverware, paintings. Lamps and books. So many rare book finds. Clothing selection is not great but everything else is great. The employees very helpful and friendly.
Four stars for selection and pricing on clothing, but you pay a premium in terms of chaos in the clothing aisles.nnI was there just before Canada Day so presumably lots of people with the day off, and the store was packed with both people and clothing. Great checkout manager, fortunately.nnClothes were stacked and overflowing near the mirrors where everyone was politely jostling for a view of themselves in the mirrors between aisles. Two boys were playing a vigorous game of soccer in the toy section until my friend finally pulled the grandma card and gave them a talking-to since their dad was preoccupied elsewhere. And you know the best stuff is what someone else already found and tried on, so you join the crowd around the mirrors and dig through the piles in search of treasure ... it falls over ... hangers get tangled ... stuff falls on the floor.nnYou know, as a corporation, VV gained so much floor space and saved staff time by removing the change rooms not to mention savings by those who can't get the clothing returned for credit on time but jeez, how about a nod toward fire safety? If this store is always like that, someone needs to report it to the Fire Marshall's office.nnAnd hey there management team, a lot of the mess can be addressed by nonchalantly leaving a random rolling rack in the vicinity of the mirrors. I'd hang stuff up, and many others probably would too. It is being done elsewhere Victoria BC for a start. How about it?nnEdited to add a thank you to the person who shared their problem with me by donating the lovely glitter top pic attached. My closet now looks like it was decorated by a 5 year old! You didn't save anything from the landfill, and you helped big bad VV corporation turn a profit off our mutual misery.
Was accused of tag switching and they refused to reprice items. No one else’s cart was under suspicion, manager was entirely unhelpful. Spoken very unfairly to by the staff and was instructed not to touch my own cart. Refused to sell me someone else’s old clothes they got for free and insisted the prices were wrong. Useless employees and weirdly strict policies for a place with paper tags that rip easily. Picture for reference. Rudest employee I’ve ever dealt with, 0 customer service skills, should be retrained not to treat paying customers like criminals.
I took my kids here to find a cheap souvenir as we traveled through the area. I figured such proximity to a large metro area like Toronto would reap fun rewards. I was mistaken. It had all the same junk you find at any other thrift store. Isn't it interesting how they all smell the same?nnThe store itself was busy but more or less organized and easy to find what you're looking for. The bathrooms are locked but was able to access when asked.
