EDIT APRIL 30: If you’re a woman who is shopping on her own do NOT go to this store. It is NOT safe to do so.nnI was here today and the security guard followed me around the store for about 20 minutes. From the dress section, to the toy section and then the craft section. He just kept following me around. I was dressed in leggings and a sleeveless top, I had no pockets and I had a backpack in my cart that I would have to open to get my wallet out of. Also, how am I going to smuggle a literal huge boxed board game out of the store?nThe security hired is obviously employed for his own personal gratification.nI thought I was going to be nauseous so I grabbed the stuff I had in my cart without finishing shopping and I paid for my stuff and just left. I complained to a supervisor but she doesn’t control who the security dude is as it’s another company and not their own VV employee. I would never shop here again, and it’s a shame because I would go here one or two times a month to bra hunt. It’s not worth the panic attack when you realize you’re being literally stalked by the security.nn———-nnI have been avoiding VV because I went earlier in the year and I found it very expensive. A lot of the random bags were $6-7 and the women’s tops were $8-12, which I thought was too much money for used clothes.nHowever, I have been twice in the past month and I do believe the prices have gone down a bit and are now more in line with the current economy.nThe older woman who helped me at self checkout today was so nice and helpful, so kudos to her she was wonderful.nI want to just give a shout out to any chesty women out there: the selection of bras for larger chests here is phenomenal. I found at least three or four that I absolutely love. I even saw some brand new in sizes G and H Penningtons is next door but mostly the non-underwire ones are definitely worth looking into.nAlso I have found a few great pairs of quality jeans Levi’s etc for under $10.nThe PJ sets are nice, something I have come to really love looking into because they’re around the $7 mark and you get two pieces.nThey’ve also been making an effort to organize the store better; I happened to peruse the toy section and it was extremely neat and clean although I came when they opened. Maybe the self checkout is actually a good thing at this location because it frees up the employees to attend to the store. Keep up the good work!
The audacity .. $20 almost for this used, tattered, peeling hoodie... Unbelievable prices for used items . This used to be a place that lower income people could afford, do some back to school shopping, but it's becoming out of reach. it's sad that the less fortunate have even less options of places to shop now.
You can find some good things here with some searching, but they really, really, REALLY need to add some form of fitting rooms, even if its just the simple kind with a curtain so that things can be tried on. Can't tell you how many times I've just had to be the weirdo in the store who tries a dress on over my clothes in the aisle.nnAlso, prices seem to be going up and up. Kind of ridiculous to pay $20 for one article of used clothing that they've received via donation. I could pay that much at a store for a new shirt.
Very clean store! I love shopping at Value Village, and while some locations can feel a bit lackluster, this one really stands out. It's very big with well organized sections and friendly staff. We will definitely be visiting again
Every time I go to Value Village I am more disappointed than before. But these arbitrarily marked up pots from Dollarama are my last straw. Shame on you, Value Village!nnApril 30 2025 Update: More price gouging, oh boy!
