Extensive selection of items but pricing varies from somewhat reasonable to astronomical close to brand new retail prices for very used items . It’s a bit hit and miss when visiting, but worth going through as some deals & unique items are to be found.
Great friendly staff there. They keep it nice and tidy, also I was buying a vacuum, and the ladies at the front helped me so muchnThey wanted to ensure that I was happy wirh my purchase considering it was final sale on that item. They went the extra mile to ensure I was a satisfied customer
I shop at Value Village regularly. I sometimes find deals on gently used items however, over the last few years the price disparity between Value Village and the item priced at a regular store has become apparent. More and more items at Value Village are priced higher than if purchased new. A lot of items are donated, this price gauging is poorly guided staff or pure corporate greed or both. Know your prices when shopping. I hear customers in the store talking about this as well. Two examples, drawer liner for 5.99 at VV partial roll, full roll at Dollarama for $2.75 and four piece planter set $4.99 at VV and new at Dollarama for $4.75 - certainly no 'value' at Value Village.nnThe store is clean and generally well organized and the staff are friendly.
Whenever I amnIn Oakville I go to this location and it’s always the same thing. The prices are way too high and they are gouging us for things given to them for free. I put several things in my cart last Friday but put every last one of them back on the shelf. I mostly shop hard goods. I would have bought a lot but not doing it at those prices. I went over to the Hampshire location in Oakville much better.
Worst junk store ever!nMost “second hand stores” are pretty clean and have quality customer service.nWent in to get a vase today and the prices were even more than the dollar store. Ripped up and soiled items, some with missing closures, etc.nWhen it was time to check out, the staff do not do cash out, they just stand and stare or walk around fiddling with hangers.nThere were 4 ‘self check-outs’ and only two took cash, so it was quite a wait before cashing out while the staff stood there and stare at the line.nSaw a staff dragging some clothes across the floor like it was garbage. This is how they do really view the store and items. If it was another “upscale” store, their disposition and attitude would be different. See pictures below of staff standing around while you wait, and when asked a question she walked away. I had to go after her and let her know I was asking a question which I know she was aware of. Kudos to Talize clean and Gooddwill quality.
