Fantastic boat tour. Captain was very cool and spoke English as well as native French. Saw Belugas, Minkes and Fin whales. Would recommend to anyone. We went early September but I believe earlier in the season is better
My friend and I did the 12 person Zodiac Whale watching trip. The whole experience was great from start to finish. The team are courteous, speak English and its all very well organised.nWe arrived and was early, checked in and advised to return at midday for briefing and jackets.nThe briefing was offered in French and English. We were issused our waterproofs and instructions on where to out them in and where to wait.nWe were then split in to our boats groups and they specifically did an English speaking boat, and a French.nOur guide was Gabe and he was fantastic. He gave lots of information and was very good at spotting the whales. Within 5 mins of being on the water we spotted a Minky whale. He could tell from the behaviour weather she was diving or breathing. He knowledge was fantastic. We travelled some distance on the boat going at speed at times. He showed humour and approachability. He also made sure everyone had a good view!nWe made our own way to this venue from Quebec city and it was well worth the 4.5hr car journey. We had a great day and would highly recommend. Its a well run business with the customers experience at the heart.
Essipit Vacances has set up a wonderful camp to allow you to really experience the beauty of the scenery unhindered. We experienced a beautiful sunset and rise and watched whales and seals from our site. We appreciate the care the staff took to ensure we had what we needed to enjoy our visit. The camp sites have picnic tables, fire-pits and platforms with loops to tie down your tent. Everything was tidy, rustic and wonderful. We had options to do whale watching by zodiac or sea kayak. We chose zodiac and were not disappointed! Captains were knowledgeable and accommodating. We hope to be back.
Whale watching itself was fantastic and we did see some whales, but i don’t know what the other review is talking about with the staff speaking English. Almost every staff member told us they barely spoke English, and every instruction was given in French. On the 36 person boat, every single instruction and piece of information was given solely in French. They never asked about any English speakers and the captain seemed kind of annoyed to explain some things in English. However, overall me and my family still had an enjoyable experience
Very clean cozy river view pet friendly cabins. We could whale watch right from the picture window. We saw Blue and Beluga whales from the shore & amazing sunrises over the St Lawrence river. In addition to the chairs and picnic table at the cabin there are lots of additional ones right on the shore. Thank you native people for sharing this magical place with us!
