The administration I've met so far have been very helpful

Helped me get my life together when most other opportunities were unavailable to me. Graduated from UW Madison four years later, but I couldn't have done it without UW Waukesha. The professors are so, so high-caliber and dedicated to their students' success, and the fact that they work with such limited resources is a testament to their intelligence and dedication to their jobs. I have nothing bad to say about UW Waukesha; it's truly a school that will return what you invest in it.

I have attended and/or visited numerous two-year UW colleges while living in Hartford, Appleton, Green Bay, and now Waukesha, and I've been very happy and impressed in many ways. I highly recommend a school like UW-Waukesha -- the quality of education you'll receive here is quite surprising. The professors are incredible. And UW colleges campuses are smaller, less-intimidating of schools to start out at, while still offering a lot (UW-Wauk. and UW-Fox Valley are two of the largest of the two-year UWs, and thus offer the widest variety of classes, etc). I will say that if you're planning on a degree in music performance or music education, for example, you'll want to begin right away at your four-year school of choice, but overall, I see beginning at a two-year UW as a very good way to transition, whether you plan on transferring to a high-caliber private liberal arts college like Lawrence University or Beloit College, or a larger, UW system institution like UW-La Crosse. (P.S. And the tuition at the two-year UWs is only about $4,500 a year!)
