A local favorite, as the restaurant was full; we arrived just prior to what appeared to be a busy period. The overall experience was just above average. We went on a weekend and maybe just didn't catch them at their best. The food was good... Average, though some of the flavors were muddled. The staff was appropriate, though not functioning with each other in harmony or a way that was customer service oriented. The food... The most delicious items we had were the lobster bisque, and oddly enough - split-pea soup; these were both outstanding! This experience was a moderately pricey one. Though we do not mind spending our hard earned income on experiences that add value, this place did not match the experience with the price. There is enough good here to warrant us trying it again, and we shall.
Stopped by this gem of a place after my delivery was completed. Googled "lobster rolls near me" and this place came up. Let me tell you it was hands down the best roll I ever had. It was packed with fresh lobster chunks and we're not talking claw meat. I almost had a tough time finishing it. I ordered onion rings as a side and those too were cooked to perfection. The batter was crispy and tasted awesome. The place was comfortable and friendly. I sat at the bar and the people eating were chatting it up with each other...such a friendly place. Peter the Manager was so nice and the bartender Matha I believe that was her name was also sweet and pleasant. They have music on the weekends and I can only imagine how fun it must be. I'm hoping to get a job again in the area soon and I definitely will return. PS prices are very very reasonable.
Heading home to NYC from a road trip and we tried this place out on a whim. Wow, this was DEFINITELY worth the stop. The place looks like it’s been around for years and gave us a sort of nostalgic feeling from old family-fun type restaurants of the past. Reminds me of the themed restaurants I would go to as a kid in the 90s with over the top decor and a large lobster tank out front. The food was huge portions and so good. Unpretentious and friendly service. Price is hard to beat for sure. If you aren’t from the area and are hungry and driving through don’t bother with eating at a pit stop, stop here.
I’m a truck driver parked at the truck stop a block away. Found this place gave it a try. And the food is so worth it. Nice restaurant vibe friendly staff. I got the lobster bisque cup and the surf and turf prime rib with stuffed shrimp. Phenomenal will def be back . Whole menu looked good. Bartender was very friendly and picked the meal. Stop here and eat.
Unfortunately these are very lean times for the dining industry but this place is in serious need of a major remodeling. Very dark and outdated. Doesnt enhance the dining experience at all. Service was great, food was good but not great. NE Clam Chowder was okay but way too thin for my own taste. Not a place I would want to return to.
This was my first time here. I liked the atmosphere quite a bit. A mix between nautical and Midwestern Supperclub. My server was friendly and attentive. I tried a few different food items: Oysters on the half shell raw, clam chowder soup, and prime rib with stuffed lobster tail. That came with a baked potato and coleslaw. The Oysters were good, but small. Server forgot the horseradish and saltine crackers. So I had to wait a while for her to bring those items before I could eat them. The chowder was just average. I expected better being in New England. I've had way better at many places in the Midwest. Not much flavor. The prime rib was good, cooked medium how I asked. But, no flavor if you didn't use the au juice, which was served cold. Would have preferred it warm. The horseradish sauce was not good at all. The lobster tail was ok. A little rubbery- so they overcooked it. Butter made up for that a little! The potato and stuffing were just average. The best part of the meal was the coleslaw! Very creamy and a little sweet. Really good. Overall, it was good, but not great by any means. Price for all this was $83. So, make your own evaluation of that.
First time here my wife and I. We celebrate my birthday. A night out. Food was good staff was great and very friendly and helpful. Features: Good
Tasty surf & turf dinner! Don't sleep on the seafood rice it was awesome too. Food was out quick and customer service was great too. I've always loved this place growing up.
Food was fantastic and the portions were huge for what we paid. I'm pretty sure that's the biggest serving of Salmon I've ever received in a restaurant. The Apps were good and the Lobster Mac had huge chunks of lobster in it. Everything was well prepared. The only reason this place didn't get 5 stars is because of the staffing issue. Our waiter was clearly struggling and I don't fault him for the long wait time. it took us close to 2 and a 1/2 hours to complete our meal but while we heard him apologize to every other table, he didn't have anything to say to us and we didn't manage to get our drinks refilled once, despite asking three times. That's a lot of food to go down on a single glass!
I always stop by when I’m in the area. I feel like I always ask for the same plate the seafood platter with calamari it’s delicious but was craving something different. But last night I switched it up. And got the surf in turf prime rib with seafood rice and a toss salad. And with an added stuffed lobster tail. The meat was so yummy juicy and tender. And the touch of the lobster tail was delicious . The experience I had with this tall young gentleman waiter he was very polite. And checked up on us to make sure we were having a pleasant experience. Talking to us making us laugh. I wish I got his name because he did a funamenal job I was very pleased. Drinks a great here my favorite is the hawiian sunrise. highly recommend this place. Excellent
