I had a great time! Our Dome and site along the river was really nice and surrounded by trees however getting there down the steep hill was terrible! I knew it was a trek but wasn't prepared for it being that steep! The Boat Ride was AMAZING and the tour guy was also AMAZING! Hanging out on the beach at sunset was my favorite. Hiking back up that hill the next day was brutal when you are hungover but we did it! The food from Drift was AMAZING!All around it was a fabulous experience. Thanks to all the great staff there!
Beautiful place! The hike to the river was tough though. Wish we would have brought water shoes and little chairs to sit at for when we did get down. Besides that, everything else was amazing! We stayed in a family dome. Two big comfortable beds, enough fire wood, private propane shower. We also got to enjoy the hot tub, sauna and a couple of games!! Can't wait for next year!
What an amazing experience! My son 7 and I stayed in a dome on the upper level. Everything about our stay here was perfect- the staff were friendly and helpful, the views were spectacular, the dome was clean and such a unique place to sleep. We would have stayed longer were they not fully booked the next night! We will definitely be going back. Highly recommend!
We stayed in the new location in Parkland county. It was an easy drive from Edmonton, and since so many things are provided we didn't need to bring much with us. We stayed on the lower level, and it was so quiet. We saw so many birds, and heard coyotes every night. Pros: the food from Drift food truck was delicious and easy to prepare on the fire, privacy and nature immersion close to the city, friendly staff, comfortable with lots of little touches like umbrellas and solar lights, natural hottub and outdoor shower Tips: the walk down from the top level to the lower level is currently being developed, and is a little tricky if you're not sure-footed. Make sure to arrive with sneakers if you're staying below, and note that the hottub, lawn games, and amenities are back up at the top of that hill. I hope we get a chance to go back in the future, the upper level looked especially great for families.
To call this “Glamping” is a bit of an overstatement. Overall we had an enjoyable weekend but is it unlikely we will ever book here again. We stayed in an upper dome for two nights. I will start with the good: All the staff are very friendly and helpful, no request we made went unfulfilled. The dome was clean and tidy and the views from the campsite were spectacular! The deck was great for lounging on in the Muskoka chairs in the sunshine, it was nice to have the patio umbrella as well for some shade. The camp stove provided worked great and the fire pit was the perfect size for two. We found the amount of wood provided each day was more then enough for our fire in the evening. It was really convenient that all the cooking supplies and dishes were including in the booking. We were super impressed with the quality of cookware provided. The Riverboat tour with Steve was fun, we even got to see a couple of bald eagles flying overhead! There was lots of birds around the site so definitely bring a pair of binoculars if you are into bird watching! That was actually one of the highlights of the trip for us. Now the less so good parts: being this is still a very new endeavour for this company they still have a lot to sort out… and it shows. The biggest one is definitely the access to the river and lower domes. Since it was raining all week the site was very muddy which caused the two ways to access the lower level to be very dangerous. The first way is a VERY steep set of unfinished stairs that then turn into a very steep dirt path, luckily for us the day we did go down the dirt had just dried out enough that we did not slide down. The second is a dirt service road which is less steep but longer and had turned to complete mud and was unusable during our stay. I feel really bad for anyone who was staying on the lower level, especially since they had to haul their gear up and down the treacherous path. It would have been nice to have a picnic table or something larger than the tiny patio table provided, even as just two people we ended up having to do all our food prep and eating just on the deck. We loved the idea of the hot tub, unfortunately we did not get to enjoy it much as the water was very murky and way too hot. Temp was reading 106 degrees Fahrenheit, as hot tub owners we know the maximum safe temperature should only be 104. Lastly, the bedding provided was not great… The pillow options were either very flat or hard and lumpy. It would have been nice to have a little bit more luxurious bedding. I think overall this place has good potential, but they still have a lot they need to sort out and finish before this could be considered a true Glamping experience. The one thing this place really does have going for it is the views.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Urban River Adventures. It was such a great experience. The staff I dealt with were very pleasant, and accommodating. Wonderful views, and the domes you stay in are very cool, clean and well looked after. Highly recommend a weekend getaway here!
Had a wonderful glamping trip on the North Saskatchewan River. Well equipped tents with everything you need Comfy bed, and wood fired stove in the tent so it's cozy even in September. Beautiful view from the river and the hot tub. The staff went above and beyond to help us out. Was a great trip close to the city!
We stayed here for 2 nights; relaxing the first one and taking part in a bunch of activities like boating, paddle boarding and walking the trails on the second. My favourite part was enjoying the sauna and hot tub in the evening overlooking the river valley. It was quite the remarkable experience and highly recommend it! We will certainly be back!
What a fun experience “glamping”! I definitely recommend trying it out. We stayed in one of the beach domes by the river. Breathtaking views, super friendly staff, ample activities, clean and family friendly. We opted to float down the river, and had the pleasure of meeting Steve. It rained for about an hour in the evening and we still enjoyed taking in the views from inside the dome. We will be back, thanks URA!
It was a great experience for a little getaway but not having to drive too far out of the city. The staff there were very friendly and helpful. It was a little confusing when I did my research about this site but they provided a site tour as we checked in. Everything was clear and easy to understand from there.
