Upten is a great place to live! The view from the 38th floor is amazing, and the location is perfect. The apartments are new, clean, and have everything you need.nnIt’s also a pet-friendly building, and there are lots of dogs and cats living here, which is nice for pet lovers.nnThe biggest downside is the elevators. Out of 4, at least one is always out of service. There were times when only one elevator worked, and the wait was very long. I recommend living on a lower floor so you can use the stairs, as the elevators break down quite often.
AVOID to live here!!!nI have lived here for 2 years and finally moved out, would like to give 0 star but google isn’t showing up my review.nnThe unit I lived inside is OK, the floor is not even but luckily no leaking problem like other units, but still…it’s far from “luxury”LOL!nnElevator is always the problem of this building.nn-Be prepared to wait at least 10 minutes for a fully loaded elevator because only 1 elevator is working.n-Be aware of elevator 4, it FALLS DOWN suddenly then you got stuck inside, get ready to wait for an “emergency help” for more than an hour.nnPOOR property managementnn-The garage door is broken during the peak hoursin the morning, no one can open the door manually, they will tell you nothing they can do and there’s no way to drive your car out of the garage.nBe ready to park your car and take uber to work with no compensation while you are paying $150+ parking fees per month.np.s. garage is full of dust, dirt and water from the melted snow.nn***Moved out for 24 days already, still have NOT refunded the security deposit, no follow up unless I email them again and again.
One of the best building with awesome mountains views as well to Calgary Tower and all beautiful downtown! Recommended who value quality and high maintained property.
I have been calling The UPTEN home now for nearly three years, and I absolutely adore it here. I have been the only one to live in my space since they opened, and I think that's really cool. No plans on going anywhere else as my cat and I have settled in quite comfortably. A vibrant community, close to everything you need downtown events, restaurants, amenities, nature/the river, library, dog parks, etc. and an overall classy and uplifting experience. Staff are friendly, helpful, and attentive and the 24/7 concierge service provides safety and accommodation on a level like no other I've experienced. Free gym, free hot chocolate or coffee whenever you want it, a social club was just recently started so there will be social events starting in 2024, yoga, donut and ice cream day !!; there's really all kinds of wonderful perks to living here. I can do my astronomy stuff right off my balcony, how cool is that? There are also gorgeous shared spaces outside and inside on the 3rd and top floor, top tier appliances BBQ's and event space, along with everything in your apartment and, of course, incredible views from every angle. I couldn't ask for more. Love it. Love it, love it, love it.nAnd my elderly cat thinks he's royalty here, and let's be honest - his opinion is really the one that counts.
Now I am not one to often write reviews, but I will do so if I feel there is a big need to. When I first moved here, I was hesitant on this building due to the negative google reviews especially about the elevators, but still decided to give it a chance. Love my unit for the warm tones and cozy vibes, but that is as far as it goes. I've been living in this building for about six months, and the service has been consistently poor. First off, the elevators are an absolute nightmare. I've had to climb 27 flights of stairs four times already due to elevator outages. This also happened before work hours. That’s beyond ridiculous.nnOn top of that, I’ve had two power outages since moving in. The most recent one happened on a Friday, and while the service technician came by to check everything, the dryer was missed - there is no power/it doesn't turn on. It wasn't until I washed a full load of clothes that the dryer wasn't working. When I asked for help, I was told I’d have to wait until Monday for maintenance, which meant no way to dry my clothes—some of which were professional attire I needed for work. Now, I have wet clothes hung all around my apartment, crazy that I have to do this with what I pay for a building like this. It's not like I can hang them all out on the balcony!nnThis isn't an isolated issue either—my microwave lost power once, and even my door lock stopped working. Underground parking is often dirty, and you're paying $200 a month for this - compare this to other well maintained apartment building underground lots.nnCommunication has been terrible under both the old when I was moving in, and new management teams. The lack of follow-up on maintenance requests, delays in responses, and inconsistent messaging between staff members make it even worse. Service in general is subpar, and the concierge staff with the exception of one who works weekday evenings barely acknowledge you when you come and go. Except for the cleaning staff, they go above and beyond in their work - thank you for what you do. Otherwise, It doesn’t feel like management or staff care about the tenants at all.nnI am now in the process of listing this place to move out, it simply is just not worth it and to whoever is interested in my unit, let me know - I will offer high incentives just to get out of this place.nnInitial rent went from over $2100, then to over $2300 for a 1-bed 1-bath place - wasn't for negotiating an addendum was I able to keep it near $2,100 a month. To be paying these prices at what seems like a luxurious apartment in Calgary's downtown core, the level of service is simply unacceptable. Very disappointing.
