Upper Canada Building Services

I had to use a star to file this review, but frankly there are no stars deserved by Upper Canada Building Services. We had to fire them after they seriously botched building a backyard pond for us. UCBS put it in the wrong place, at the wrong height above ground, and the wrong depth; after insisting that we pay for engineering drawings which they then ignored. UCBS also complained and made excuses when we pointed this out. The worst part was the plumbing for the pond's gravity-fed drainage system. The plans showed Upper Canada that it had to be a series of gradual runs with minimal bends to minimize friction, because water flow was vital. The attached photos shows the laughable 'water park for mice' they created plus the drawing they were supposed to work with. UCBS' piping had so many unnecessary angles which wasted expensive PVC pipe that we had to pay another plumber to rip it out and do it properly. As you can see from the photos, many of the angles they chose made no sense at all. Even an amateur laying down straight runs would have done a better job. There was no reason for any of these intersections, angles, and overlaps. The plumber who tore this all out and did it right just kept shaking his head. It's been three years, and our backyard is still a construction site; because last summer was spent fixing UCBS' mistakes. The stress and grief this has caused us has been incalculable. Upper Canada knew they screwed up our project, and did nothing to fix their errors; nor even acknowledge them. They took no responsibility at all for the mess they caused at our considerable expense. Spare yourself grief and thousands of wasted dollars; do not hire Upper Canada!!!
