I’ve gone to this clinic for probably 15 yrs… have had mixed experiences mostly bad. I had Dr. Godek when I was in high school and she misdiagnosed me with a mood disorder, only listened to my mothers opinions, which was TRAUMATIZING for a young girl who didn’t know how to advocate for herself…years later went back to this office due to lack of providers in the area, met with an NP who was alright. Did not feel heard, mostly felt invalidated and judged. Dr. Tobin-Anderson was wonderful though, and I’m really sad she left. Not sure what the internal structure is there, but no one seems happy to work there. Most employees seem annoyed or under some weird pressure. Going there causes me anxiety because I’m never sure how I’ll be treated . Doctor turnover is high.
I'm sure they're fine if you have run-of-the-mill issues, but their ability to think outside the box is poor. Their listening skills are also poor. They always acts as if the patient is mistaken or lying if the answers they receive are not what they want to hear. Their ability to identify possible underlying causes is extremely poor. They also never follow up. The office staff is not good. They have a "not my problem" attitude. The nurses are good though. Overall, I would highly recommend against receiving care from this office if you have non-standard medical issues. They will waste so much of your time, and in the process do more harm than good.
50% of appointments are canceled. 75% of refills are not refilled. Extremely rude staff. UPDATE 10/30/2022: they have an old woman that answers the phone on weekends. I told her that the medication I was on was not refilled and that made me very uncomfortable. You shouldn't stop taking this medication abruptly yet this office left me hanging on several occasions. Because she was old, and a bad communicator, she freaked out, called me threatening and banned me from this business. I am in no way a threatening person! I merely was expressing to her my dissatisfaction with a missed refill and she couldn't even communicate in a healthy manner without melting on the phone and accusing me of being "verbally abusive." I am an educated man and this couldn't be further from the truth I worry this has followed me around on my medical record so if you don't want that definitely do not go here! I have since moved on to another doctor in Escanaba I told them about this situation and it seems it's not unusual. I don't disrespect women in any way whatsoever and this place has labeled me "verbally abusive" and I am very much not okay with that! Furthermore I followed up and the most positive manner possible to which they never responded. Not professional.
Dr. Santoro was very bad at listening, not interested in—or capable of—diagnosing anything I ever went in for, and seemed more interested in getting an appointment over with and on to the next patient than actually helping anyone. The office staff are only ever rude or indifferent. The only people that ever showed any concern were the nurses and techs.
This office is absolutely terrible. Firstly the PA that was there was horrendous. Misdiagnosed constantly, refused to listen to patients , and honestly asked inappropriate and bordering illegal questions. Secondly, now that he’s gone, the office has refused to transfer any of his patients to the doctors there. Under no circumstances do I recommend using this clinic.
Dr. Tobin - Anderson is a wonderful doctor. She takes very good care of me. Everyone at Lakewood Medical provides personal, professional, friendly, and courteous care. I give them all five gold stars because they are exceptional and deserve it.
I have had nothing but good experiences here. The front staff is so welcoming and nice, and Dr. Santoro is easily the best doctor I've ever been to. I struggled to find a doctor that made me comfortable, and Dr. Santoro well exceeds those expectations.
Mary Tobin-Anderson Shes a good dr for healthy people. She had me managing my life threatning illness and ignored my non verbal sons medical health because of him having Autis.
Stay far, far away. They do not listen to you. They do not follow up with you. There is NO FOLLOW-THROUGH. Their approach to helping you falls apart and you are left with no MRI appointment. They leave you in pain. Stay far away. Go anywhere else to get help!!!
I went to this facility to get a referral for an NST as requested by my insurance. I was given a referral so I went to the provider. 5 months later, I found out that this facility NEVER faxed/mailed/emailed the referral to my insurance and I was stuck with over $ 1,100 bill. I called at least 10 times and after calling for about 3 weeks, I was told they will fax the referral to my insurance. 3 months later, I found out that this facility NEVER faxed the referral. My insurance just decided to pay part of the service I received. My claim went into collections, which ruined my credit. These people are incompetent and do not care about others so long as they get paid. DON'T RUIN YOUR CREDIT. Do not go to this facility!
