Called to have a repair done on a wide format printer, called Monday, was told someone would come by the next day. $40 fee for driving 5 miles to come look at my printer!!!! Are you kidding me? Then the next day came, no call no show. I call them three times throughout the course of the day. Absolutely terrible customer service, I would not recommend to anyone.
I was experiencing operational difficulties with my 5-year old iMac and was searching for a place to run diagnostics when I located University Computers. I paid the $50 diagnostic fee and learned that I did not need a new computer but I did need a new hard drive. The $300 price was reasonable and the 24-hour turn-around time was fast. I took it home and could not believe the lightning fast operating speed. Wish I had taken it in a year ago when it first started crashing. I definitely recommend University Computers.
Cory is so nice and this company is easy to do business with. A++
Run away, do not walk, as fast as possible from this service provider - poor communication, poor skills, and abominable customer service. They may be very skilled at networking and working with a business, but they do not have the processes or personnel in place to work with the general public. I brought my PC in on Feb 1 with a keyboard issue and paid a $54 fee for diagnosis. I was contacted the next day and was told the keyboard assembly needed to be replaced, which I approved. I phoned on the 8th and was told I could come pick it up. Upon arrival, I learned that the part had not come in - I would have appreciated a call to that effect, but, no problem. The next contact I received was on 2/28 to tell me the keyboard that came in was faulty, but that another one was on order and I could pick it up Friday - seemed reasonable. When I arrived Friday I was told that the unit was not ready as the part had not come in. A phone call to that effect would have been appreciated. At this point, I had made multiple trips to the location and had enough. I asked for my PC back and requested that the diagnosis fee be refunded given that the PC had been there for 30 days since the issue was diagnosed. I was told that the fee was not refundable. When I inquired as to whether the service they were providing was reasonable, I got an affirmative response, and was then ignored for the next 25 minutes while the tech reassembled my PC. When it was finally brought out, the screen would not open fully. I waited another 20 minutes for this to be corrected and was informed that I should come back next week because they close at 5pm and the PC would not be ready. The front desk representative came back to me at some point during all this and refunded the diagnosis fee, which was appreciated.
Nice people, quick service, and great quality.
I left my laptop with them for a problem where the screen didn't come on every time, and Pd $56.00 after three weeks They called, I picked it up Pd. $142.00, got home same problem. I took it back told them it wasn't a display problem like the note taped on the front of the laptop said. "display only comes on after several restarts, " likely Software issue". So I asked the tech "do you still have the old display? Yes, why don't you test it, I know it's still good. A week or so later, they called and said "we can't recreate the problem" so I ok'd a reinstall of win 8. and I requested new keyboard, it needed one he said it would cost me $30.00 since I already paid for labor. I was a bit upset I paid 99.00 + labor for a 40.00 display, that was not defective. When I picked it up the next time, they charged me 40.00 even though I was told 30.00. OK, I told the lady that I was paying it but was upset that I paid for a display that wasn't bad. She throws up her hands and walks away saying I don't know about that...I thanked my tech and shook his hand. So 5 weeks later after 3 days at home my laptop display won't come on, and I am headed back to University Computers on W.7th St. in Fort Worth. for the 5th time. I even found a possible fix for it and emailed it to my tech. I hope they can find the problem. I will update this review at the appropriate time.
Y'all. These guys are so helpful. I brought a machine in and they were totally honest with me and even gave me advice. So great!
A Complete Disaster. My wife brought her perfectly functioning Mac Laptop to upgrade the hard drive to Fort Worth's University Computer. They later claimed that the motherboard was broken so they replaced it with a used one. We paid for the hard drive upgrade and the new motherboard. We had no choice. After a few months my wife's computer started to crash. She would turn it on and few minutes later it would crash. This was a new problem. My wife decided to ignore the problem never telling me and began using her work Mac laptop. Several months pass and she finally tells me of the problem. Too late, the warranty period has lapsed. Bad news ... the combination of my wife procrastinating and poor work by University Computers spelled disaster. This Mac Laptop is now a paper weight. This week, she purchased a new Mac Laptop.
Extremely helpful in diagnosing computer problems and have a very fast turn around time. Been using these folks for about 10 years!
I have worked with University Computers for years for cabling and phone system installations. Always pleased with their services!
