Universal Buddhist Temple

The Universal Buddhist Temple is a good spot to pay respects to loved ones. The decorations are beautiful and it is very peaceful. It costs around $3,000 one time to have a picture of your loved one inside. They are still doing construction on the right side, so you have to enter using the side door on the left.

They are doing renovation and construction now. Believe they are expanding, which is great since the temple has been there for many years and welcome an update. They offer free vegetarian lunch every Sunday at 12:30pm, prepared and distributed by volunteers. I've been visiting this temple since a child and now I'm bringing my own children there regularly.

I've been going there since I was young. Busiest time would be Chinese New Year. However, it can be busy during certain days of the year as well. My only gripe is the lack of street parking here. Almost the entire block requires a permit to park on the street. There is limited number of spaces on the side street too.

Currently expanding. Old section still in operation. Check hours before visiting.

Social distancing ok , appointment prefer open 4 days a week with friendly ppl there staff / volunteer

Covid safe but this also means they require you to make an appointment before you can go pray

I always came back this area everytime go to Vancouver . Feel like home asbthe old day Cholon still a biggest china town in the world

Not a truth Buddhist temple, no actual Buddhist teaching, the meals cook with garlic , Only want donation$$$

This location has been there for years friendly staffs and every Sunday they serve free vegetarian meals at 12:30pm
