None of this pics were taken at the Unicorn lounge but for some reason google keeps asking me to review it with these tagged photos. They were taken at The Grid which is across the street. It was a great time and I also visited the Unicorn Lounge which was very low key and fun. Both places had great service and we had a great night.
Lived in this area for years and never knew about this place. It was not what my wife and I expected judging from the Unicorn Statue on the front of the building. Thought we would give it a try and was thoroughly impressed. The bartender and other guests were a lot of fun. We will definitely be back!!
It was a lot of fun! The atmosphere was laid back and the crowd was inviting!
Used to be a legendary place of the Old Town, townie-oriented dive bar with great music, until it was no more. Read the signs in front of the door, they are accurate. You are warned. They run the place as they want, which is loud, rude, and fake all together. Since they are crystal clear about not being open-minded to customer interaction, I now take my business elsewhere. Again they are very clear about it when you enter. Their honesty about their attitude to the customer is the only pleasant thing about the place.
Many changes but the feel is still there. It was nice to see Jordan behind the bar. The music provided by Jimmy G and the Capitals was great. I just hope the same bands will continue to be booked. Prices are higher, of course, the beer could be colder.
Go check out some great music and dancing. Good drink prices, although they have rules about frilly drinks- they don't serve them. Don't expect to order any food. The people who go there are great. Old Town is always LGBTQ friendly.
Absolute horrible service! I came in with a group of 5 and we sat at the end of the bar. We waited over 20 mins trying to get the bartenders attention, who was doing nothing but standing there talking. After many attempts of trying to get service, we all walked out. I've never had this horrible of service. I've sadly gotten better service at Reno's. The worst part was the bar didn't have very many people in it so for you to miss a whole group of 5 people is just ridiculous! On the other hand I would like to say the door man was very apologetic and polite.
How do I describe my experience? The English language fails to describe to joy, the rapture I felt as I walked into this amazing establishment. The bartender instantly made me and my friends feel right at home. Service was top notch, and on the spot. The bathrooms we as clean as they were confusingly aid out. The proximity of the toilet and urinals, and the lack of barriers between them, created ample opportunity to form new friendships. The other patrons rough, gruff, and tough visages made us feel cooler by association! Seriously, this place has it all. 5/7 would drink at again!
It's an old bar that still has the ol' school charm. When you walk in you will still get the mismatched tables and bingo chairs and cushy bar seats. It's perfect if you aren't trying to impress ANYONE. Sweet Tommy, the previous owner would still nod with approval with the look it has now :
Easy to find! Low key! Great ambiance! Decent drink prices!
