I normally love Mexican restaurants and was looking very forward to this place. I read the reviews online and thought it would be good. The food was a bit below average. The beans and rice was thrown out. Don’t let the nice photos I took fool you. Don’t get that steak burrito as it’s over cooked in the oven coming scorching hot. The chicken was dry and the pork was not seasoned well in the tacos. We had a puddle of water with the pork. The ground beef was the wait to go. The nachos are not good, I’ve been to a lot of authentic places and this was far below average. The. Vegetarian taco trio is not tasty either. The service was good. We were seated promptly and had someone always come over. They were polite and attentive. We order a beef quesadilla but got a chicken taco. We asked for a replacement and got a beef taco instead. We gave up at that point as we needed to go. I think the biggest issue we had is the cleanliness. This place is nasty. I’ve done lots of reviews and been to some dives that I loved but this place was just plain dirty. So much dust everywhere, ants and other bugs. I would say that they need to spend a good week cleaning the place up. The decor make it even harder to clean even though it looks nice in the pictures. Sometimes there are places that just don’t sit well with you. I gave with three others and everyone said 2/5. I’ll leave you with this. If the dining area is not clean what does the kitchen look like?
Highly recommended! One of the best places for Mexican cuisine. Staff members are friendly. The food is delicious . Recommended dish - Chimichanga. The ambience is very decorative. Also, my review would not be complete if I don't add this. This place has been winning best Mexican restaurant awards for 6-7 years. Great achievement, Team under the volcano.
This is the best Mexican restaurant I have ever been to! It felt very authentic. And the vibe of the restaurant was phenomenal! They put a lot of effort into making you feel like you're in a different world with their elaborate interior decor. We had 2 mains — enchiladas and quesadillas. See photos. They both tasted amazing. The pricing is not cheap — but it's fair. : For 2 people, you can expect a bill of $50 after tax and 20% tip. The staff was nice. There was no wait time on Friday night for 2 people. Highly recommend. We're excited to try this place again.
Great place for Mexican cuisine. Ambience is laid back and relaxed can have a great conversation without the overtone of loud music. Staff is friendly and recommend good dishes based on your preferences. The food was on point. Taste/ flavour and the doneness was 100% Will definitely return back for more. The chimichanga was very well fried, nothing burnt and all ingredients tasted fresh and delicious. The Jalapenos Rellenos is my personal favorite, the Jalapenos pack a good punch with spice and balances out with the cheese, tomatoes, onions and other ingredients. This was shared between two and we were full.
First time ever eating here and definitely will not be the last time . By far my new favorite restaurant . Waitress was very kind and the food was unbelievably good . Dessert deep fried iced cream the
Came here after months of driving past. Was hesitant because it doesn’t look pretty from the outside but I was beyond impressed. Our appetizer came out quick and was delicious. The chips are salted with celery salt and some were salty but I love that. I had the combo platter with 2 mains and 2 sides. Rice was flavoured well, fries were great. Both mains had great flavour and the meat wasn’t dry at all. Overall, $80 for two is a great deal + I have a full meal for tomorrow since portions are huge!
This place was an unexpected surprise. We wanted something Tex-mex but dine in, and we ended up here! Everything we tried packed a punch of flavour. Highly recommend this place to anyone, any day of the week. We tried their Jalapeños Rellenos, Enchiladas and Chimichanga. All of these were fantastic, well balanced and paired well with Jarritos. Its a few bucks more expensive than a Chipotle or Quesada, but more than makes up for it in both quality and quantity.
Have gotten take out from here within the past year and was so good I decided to go with my girlfriends for a birthday dinner. Was so disappointed with the service it ruined our night, we were constantly getting attitude from our server and treated so poorly. Not sure if this was because we’re younger early 20s but this shouldn’t matter as paying customers. Food was good but mediocre, definitely would’ve been better if we were treated as respected customers. So disappointed and won’t be returning or recommending unfortunately.
Nice atmosphere, excellent service, great tasting food, reasonably priced.Recommended dishesDeep-Fried Ice Cream, Chips and Salsa, Tortillas
This is their 10$ strawberry chimichanga. Pop can for scale. It was like a pop tart bit smaller. Tastes frozen. Complete ripoff
