The restaurant changed owner and feels the portions gotten smaller, prices are pretty high for what I got. No check backs on how the food was, service was mediocre, food was mediocre at best, my fish was rubbery and slow; $3 for a can of coke?! Come on.... Also on the menu it says post google review to get a free drink, but they didn’t not honour it. “It is no longer available” Was very disappointed as when it was known as saltys it was great.
Never disappointed when we come in. Amazing staff and the food speaks for itself. Be sure to go in for all you can eat! 10/10
Love it, excellent quality and great price. Super friendly owners and staffs. Highly recommend.
My wife and I have been going here for a couple years now. They were Saltys before being sold to a new ownership and changing their name to Uncle's. The new management is pretty friendly and food continues to be good overall. Only thing we don't like is that our fries were way undercooked during our latest visit so we had to ask them to deep fry again. Other than that, fish and shrimp continues to be nicely deep fried and our favorite is their tartar sauce. Would definitely recommend this place
Amazing food. Great service. Must try Halibut and coleslaw with chilled cold beer. Loved it.
We went there for the first time today and were very excited after having read the reviews. Upon arrival, we were greeting ever so nicely by all the staff and were initially very pleased with everything. They had a few promos going on so the price of our meal was quite decent. Our food came in a timely manner and we were shocked by our portions! Man, were we excited to indulge in our food. The clam chowder; room temp and likely from a can. Oysters; sour and undercooked. Other than that, fries were great and so was the fish:. We were also very pleased with the fact that they give you complimentary ice cream after your meal. If you're in a rush and are craving fish and chips I'd recommend this place. If you have time to travel a bit, go elsewhere. Service was a 11/10 and overall food was a 6/10.
So disappointing! I wanted to support local during this pandemic. I ordered online which was great. It said to pick up in 20 mins, so I arrived in 20 mins. To my dismay they didn't start cooking my food until I arrived and paid. While I was sitting and waiting for my order the owner was coughing and spitting into the sink Which I could hear and see. I also noticed he wasn't wearing his mask properly. It was too late because I had already paid.... so I brought the food home. The fish was absolutely terrible, no beer batter whatsoever and I don't even think it was cod. It actually looked liked that cheap tilapia. The coating I wouldn't call it a batter was so oily and soggy. Worst Fish and chips I have ever had. I was excited for the homemade tartar sauce..... it was also a huge disappointment. The fries were good, but that's all that was good. Would not recommend and will not be going back.
First time I have been here since it changed from Salty’s to Uncle’s. The restaurant is only available for takeout at this time. The staff were friendly and the food was served quickly but the food needs some improvements. I liked that the batter was light but they did not open the vent on the takeout box so it was very soggy. It also tasted on the fishy side. The chips however were still nice and crispy even though they were sealed. The coleslaw was not coleslaw, rather it was a garden salad mix. Iceberg lettuce not cabbage that was use but mixed in heavy coleslaw dressing resulting in a mushy inedible salad. Confused why they would serve this! The tartar sauce was tasty and came with a generous portion. I ordered the 6 piece cod family meal to feed 4 adults. It was the right amount. There is potential but they need to make some improvements.
10/10! First night ordering from here. Got the two piece cod with chips and homemade tartar sauce. Big portion for a good deal! I find the fish to be quite fresh and it was a delight to have. Even better that it is local! Easily accessible on door dash as well for pick up or delivery.
The other night I had some great tasting Fish & Chips at the above mentioned place. This place is recently opened and the owner is very understanding of the dietary concerns and assured me they do not use beef tallow, lard or alcohol in their batter. On Tuesday's and Wednesday's they have All You Can Eat fish and chips for a great price and they keep stocking up and ask you to have some more! The Cod fish was extremely flavorful, and fried in a thin batter, not oily at all and served with home made chips. The staff were incredibly friendly, the restaurant has a nice British feel to it and the food is served in very big portions. This place is conveniently located in North Delta on 84 ave and 112 street and has already become a huge hit among Delta/Surrey residents.
