10/10 First time there and the lady working very patiently went through everything that they had and I ended up leaving with a small cheesecake in case I didn't like it next time I'm getting the large one! Very clean store, friendly and helpful employees, super clean bathroom, AMAZING CHEESECAKE. You won't regret it! They also have super cute boxes and take out bags!
I bought 2 regular coffees and a small fluffy cheesecake . This cheesecake is better than Uncle Tetsu's as it's more cheesy, soft, and feels fresh. The atmosphere is nice and clean . Lots of sitting areas are available to get a warm and sweet feeling in chilly winter evenings.Food: 4/5
Supporting local never tasted so good. Located in downtown Oshawa on King street, @unclefluffycan offers Japanese cheesecake and tarts. The cheesecake was light, fluffy and soft just like Japanese cheesecake is supposed to be. Ignore the low rating reviews from people who obviously don't know what Japanese cheesecake is supposed to taste like. And about the tarts.....the crust was so light and flaky, makes me wish I had purchased more. The filling was smooth and had a melt in your mouth texture. If you haven't visited yet, you're missing a new Oshawa business gem. I'll most definitely try it again, and again and again.
Just bought one on my way home from work, and this Japanese Cheesecake is *amazing*! Perfectly fluffy, cheesy and mouthwatering delicious. The gentleman who served me was so friendly and professional. I'm buying the large next time, and getting some of those cheese tarts and muffins! Thank you so much for the wonderful experience.
Love that there’s a Japanese cheesecake place in Durham! Staff are very friendly and cheesecake was delicious. It just melts in your mouth. They have 3 different sizes of cakes available along with some caffeinated beverages and tarts.
I’ve been seeing a lot of comments on Google Reviews and social media comparing Uncle Fluffy’s cheesecakes to Uncle Tetsu, so I thought I’d do a detailed side by side comparison myself. Uncle Tetsu only offers one cheesecake size for $14 no tax - at the P Mall location. Uncle Fluffy offers 4 different cheesecake sizes. Fluffy’s Regular size cheesecake is the EXACT SAME SIZE 6 inch and about 1.5 inches in height and sells for $14.99 plus tax - it isn’t in any way smaller than what I’ve seen some people write. In fact, as you can see from my pictures Uncle Fluffy’s cheesecake weighs MORE than Tetsu’s. I also tried Tetsu’s tart for the first time and let me just say that it is NOTHING comparable to uncle Fluffy’s rich and perfectly flavored tarts. You can also see in the picture that Uncle Fluffy’s tarts are almost double the size of Tetsu’s little tarts yes, I measured those too. I didn’t even bother finishing Tetsu’s tart because the flavor was just too fake and chemically. So to finally set the record straight - Uncle Fluffy is in no way more expensive than what some people are making them look like. And honestly, for the extra buck you’re getting fresh Japanese cheesecake that weighs more right here in Oshawa/ Durham region. I’m just happy that this is even an option in Durham regions If you want to spend the time extra gas to buy Tetsu that’s by all means anyone’s choice. Personally having been a Tetsu fan for so many years, I now prefer Uncle Fluffy’s cheesecakes and tarts over their any day.
Uncle Fluffy Japanese cheesecake is quite new in the area, but has good options from tart to various size cheesecakes. Ambiance is unique and had good amount of sitting arrangements. Lady seems genuine. Good customer service.
I’ve heard so many people raving about these Japanese cheesecakes and decided to finally try them out. I’m not a cheesecake person at all and so I hesitated for a while. I called the store and the person who answered was so helpful and kind. When I placed my order they had included a little note letting me know that the cake was fresh out of the oven! Super cute and thoughtful. The cheesecake overall was definitely tasty and unique in its own right. I would happily recommend everyone to try it out- you won’t be disappointed. Thank you Uncle Fluffy Oshawa!
My review in one word is: AMAZING! This is going to be a long review but they deserve all of the praise. My boyfriend and I went today, and both immediately noted the calm and peaceful atmosphere. The whole place was immaculately clean, comfortable, and easy on the eyes. The staff was kind and warm. And the food… WOW. We can only attest to the cheesecakes, but those are literally 10/10. Sweet but not overly so, to the point it hurts your teeth, soft, airy, fluffy, creamy… it was like eating a cloud. It melted in our mouths and had a very lovely flavor. So much so that I – as someone who normally needs some sort of extra flavoring like toppings and syrups of some kind – happily ate it plain. At the time of writing this, if memory serves me correctly, they offer chocolate/caramel/strawberry syrup with the cheesecake. They were out of strawberry flavoring so we got caramel instead; personally, I’m not a huge fan of caramel in general, but it was still very tasty and if you’re a caramel person, then you’ll love it! The portion sizes were great too. We got a small and it fed both of us just fine, but if I'm being honest we should have gotten one each. It was that good. Sharing was hard. Also, I’ve seen some reviews say the prices are a bit high, and sure, they are a little higher than you might expect for cheesecake – but that's because this isn’t any old cheesecake. The place is professional and the cakes are top quality. So yeah, expect to pay more here than you would just grabbing a cheesecake from the grocery store, but that’s exactly it: you get what you pay for in food and experience and it’s absolutely worth it. [Note: I only took one photo. I meant to take another once we had eaten some, to show the inside, as I knew I wanted to leave a review. But before I knew it we had eaten the whole thing save for a small portion – that we had to physically stop ourselves from devouring – so that I could take it home for my mother to try. And she loved it too!] We’ll definitely be back again!
So happy to have Japanese cheesecake in Oshawa! These are soooo delicious, I prefer them over the more popular ones. The inside of the cafe is cute and relaxing too, a great place to do some studying and have a treat and coffee.
