The front desk is rude an don't know what they are doing I'm in Alaska an they don't even know time differences. My court is at 9am an it is now almost 10am the court is a joke ulster county period is a joke. If I could give them negative five stars I would. They need to get there stuff together an the front desk lady needs to get her head out of her ass. Rude an disrespectful I have never been talked to like that by any employee anywhere she needs to get a new job maybe McDonalds would suit her.

i do not understand the reasoning of any family court for any given situation. this court has on several occasions granted custody of the minor child to their grandmother and not to the petitioning father, who is more than capable of caring for the minor child. instead of granting custody of the minor child to a birth parent, they deem it necessary to grant custody to individuals who have known drug and alcohol problems. how is that fair to the child? i also find it amazing that, once custody of the minor child is transferred to a willing parent, support payments are not automatically stopped. the only reason for this that has been given is that support modifications are a different part of the family court system. this court is judged by someone who is not a judge, but a support magistrate, a lawyer. so why can't an elected judge for the family court simply slam the gavel down and say that support is no longer needed in this case and end it right there? why must the custodial parent after gaining custody of the minor child then have to file an additional court document to have the support order changed? in addition to that why must the person, who is paying the support, then have to appear in person in the court in order to have the modification done? why, if the current custodial parent does not live with in a reasonable distance (i.e. an hour or less to the court house), not able to appear by phone? what benefit is there to the person having to be there in person? some people have to take entire days off of work to attend a court appearance that may last all of 20 minutes...if someone can please explain these questions i have posed, in a clear and concise manner, i will no longer complain about the ridiculous nature of the family court system in place here in New York state...

Shouldn't the name be changed to Ulster County Family Circus? What a bunch of clowns, they ALL NEED MENTAL HEALTH EVALUATIONS - anyone who would endanger child welfare belongs indefinitely behind bars. There is no excuse for the abuse of this barn -they call a court. I see here that there is not ONE good review of this place. So who pretell is holding these IDIOTS accountable for their actions?

Ulster county family court is a joke. They in no way shape or form do what's best for the child. They rip the future away from so many children it should be criminal. They need to start being held accountable for their ungodly and aweful decisions.
