Friendly and humble owner, cooking one mean meal. The chicken was juicy and well spiced, rice & potatoes were cooked to perfection. Served with pita and tziki sauce, it was a very filling meal. Support local business, support Merritt BC STRONG! Come HELL or HIGH WATER
Ordered takeout for the first time since living in Merritt and yum yum it was DELICIOUS and the ladies out front were very friendly and welcoming and had a nice brief chit chat before I headed out. My hubby had butter chicken with rice and I had a calamari dinner and we could barley finish our meals!! The food was super yummy and we will definitely be back, will probably try dine in next time! *just a note, the online ordering doesn’t give an option for kids meals so we ordered our son the regular size chicken fingers, was also tasty and he just ended up with left overs, I’m sure if you call they can do kids meal but not online*
I have eaten here a few times. The menu can be overwhelming and discouraging if you have no clue what to eat. The variety of cuisine is also great if you have no clue what to eat. I know I know, but both statements can be true. You just have to figure out how much thinking and processing your brain wants to do. I can never decide and end up ordering way too much food. Good thing I like leftovers. I have tried dishes from each of their cuisine styles. I have enjoyed them all. I took a star away because the service is inconsistent. They are always friendly, but a couple of times we were left waiting a substantial amount of time because of lack of communication between staff members. I recommend giving this place a try.
Giving 5 stars because our lovely waitress was the most enthusiastic, welcoming woman EVER I am so sad I'm forgetting her name because she seriously deserves such a huge kudos. The food was surprisingly good too and service was really quick considering a huge rush came in at once and there was only 1 waitress working Highly recommend giving this place a try if you're looking for a decent dinner spot
For a place with such a wide variety of styles of food from Greek, Italian, Indian, and more we were pleasantly surprised! The service and food were amazing! We only rarely drive through Merrit on our way to the coast but I think we'll be adding a stop at UK Spice to our plans when we do.
So, I went to the UK Spice & Cuisine restaurant for my second time in a month. My first experience was great, however my second was, well less than desirable. Let me explain... Firstly, everyone has a bad day, I understand this only too well. But, after ordering upwards of $150 in food, $30 in drinks and counting. Our experience took a hard left turn when the waitress we had preceeded to take my $15 drink and remove it from the table dumping it out, and swearing at me when I asked why, please replace it...? I feel for the owner, they lost a large sale, maybe a customer. You can never treat someone so rudely and expect something good to come of it.
Amazing food and service! Fresh ingredients and amazing taste and flavour! Will definitely be back any time I am in Merrit. The butter chicken pizza and the paneer was amazing!! Thanks so much to UK Spice Cuisine.
We were just walking down Quilchena and enjoying the Merritt Country Music walk. Erin the waitress invited us to come in. So we went in for lunch and we’re provided with a wonderful fresh Tika Masala and a Chicken Siuvlaki dinner. Both outstanding, and Erin’s service was a bonus. Highly recommend.
A newer to town business that should catch the attention it deserves. Authentic Indian dishes with Italian/Greek dishes also. The lamb curry was spot on. Highly recommended. Great service with a waiter that knows the menu and can make accurate recommendations. Keep up the good work!
Ordered twice from UK spice. The first time they forgot my pita bread and tzatziki. The wait was super long and I was starving by the time I got it. Got Indian fusion tonight and asked for it to be very mild that I had kids eating it. Which my kids usually like but it was so spicy I could barely eat it : super disappointed it was expensive and not very good. When I called to talk to them, I was given advice to get a different dish next time. The lady was very sweet but I won't be ordering next time as it's been twice now that I've been disappointed.
