The staff at this site seem well organized and cordial with patrons but I was very disappointed when I was told that some Ukrainian nationals where prohibited from crossing the border into the US from Canada becauase they had Canadian refugee status. The Ukrainian refugees said they wanted to move to the US because they speak little or no French and where finding it difficult to work in Canada. They can’t even cross the border temporarily to get to friends and relatives without a visa. Sad state of affairs really, I don’t see any changes coming in the near future.
We just came through the border crossing in a motor home. The officer came aboard for a look and was professional and courteous. He was efficient and friendly. A wonderful emissary for international travelers coming into our coming.
Fire that Dupuis guy, extremely rude and disrespectful. He looked like he had a bad day but that doesn’t mean he gets to ruin other people’s day.
My only complaint is how long the lines were. It seemed like they could have opened a couple more, but perhaps they're understaffed. It took a very long time to get through, luckily if you stop at the duty free shop right before going through you can use the bathroom or get a coffee, just be prepared for a long wait. Other than that everything went very smoothly. Once you actually get to the booth, it's just a few questions from a friendly officer and you're on your way.
Pleasure traveling to Montreal and even greater pleasure to make moves back to NYC. Canadians are truly friendly though. And the city of Montreal is well maintained and quality of life seems solid. Would definitely return for the right occasion.
Always 1 line open in Jewish holidaysbefore or afterWHY? So "funny" still asking vaccine status from Canadian citizens, but South of the border wide open for everyone illegally!!
I cross US/Canada by this port highway 87/15 probably once every two months. Never have any issues from either side. Both US and Canadian officers are professional and polite. They may not be friendly like guys/ladies you met in a bar or restaurant, but they keep inspection process short and efficient. Avoid busy time like Saturday morning or early weekend afternoon, or holiday/vacation season. Chances are there will be longer waiting time to cross the border. As a Canadian, I understand how stressful to cross the border and enter US. To make it easy, keep these in mind: bring all documents with youeven if US border control agency may not ask; know your purpose into US and destination, and answer the questions clearly and precisely. If they bring you for second inspection, do not panic, carefully examine what is wrong in your answers and try to correct or explain during second inspection. Bottom line is, if you have nothing to hide and try to enter US legally, you will be fine. On Monday, March 11th, about 8:40am, I arrive this port. Only 2 cars ahead of me, and only one officer was working you can see only one Green light in the photo. The woman officer checked my passport and asked my license# in a polite and professional way, and let me through in a minute. Although she did not smile but I still feel her professionalism, and the inspection process is a pleasant one for me. I hope all the officers keep up their good work and wish all the travelers have a pleasant experience crossing the borders, either from US or Canada side.
Excellent service. I can imagine it to be a very difficult job.
Great traveling lands here at the United States-Canadian borderlands. The lines getting out of the United States can get quite lengthy, getting back into the United States is more easily and seamlessly done. Overall, a very positive international experience here.
We had our paperwork : passport driver license, covit vaccine cards and download the Arrive Canada app . So we had no problems
