I like this place. Nice nail art with our pedicures and the guys are so nice and funny.

Occasionally I'll stop in for a nail fix when my nail lady of 5+ years is unavailable. Unfortunately I needed a full set this time. The service was sloppy and my nails were poorly done. There was even a moment where he had gone outside to smoke and I had to file my nails evenly before he put the gel polish on. The environment was tense and the technician (also assuming the owner) was rough and aggressive. The facility was disorganized and dirty. This establishment is not even worth a general nail repair. Seems like they're more concerned with making money than establishing their business as the owner kept taking clients he didn't have time for-hence the rush, poor quality of service, and overwhelmed/aggressive behavior. I will be taking my business and minor nail repairs elsewhere.

This was by far the worst nail experience I have ever had. An unclean and unprofessional environment with a small child roaming around unattended set the stage for this two hour disaster I just experienced. From the nails and wood pieces sticking out of the wall, to the child playing in my mom and my foot water, nothing about this place was positive. As soon as we walked in there was a lady who was unhappy with her eyebrow waxing. Although she was dramatic, the owner did NOTHING to compensate for her messed up eyebrows. On top of that, they complained about the last customer to us just after she left. Upset with that situation, he took it out on my moms fingers, making her bleed and only quickly apologizing after I had to draw it to his attention that he had done so! A customer worried about the child's safety not only took her away when she started touching my wet toenails and practically babysat the poor kid so she wouldn't fall off the high chairs or anything, but CHANGED HER DIAPER for the workers. After two hours of below average, on-and-off service, they charged my mom and I full price(expensive in the first place) despite their constant phone call making and speaker phone conversations while doing our nails. I would never go back here. After I realized they charged us full price for our nails that looked only slightly better than before we walked into U Nails, I went back in to politely ask for a partial refund. Not only was the owner unwilling to hear out my constructive criticism but he actually said "The price is the price. You won't find anywhere cleaner in Chicago (where my mom and I are from) and you can go ahead and write a bad review, make sure it is worded well." There definitely are cleaner places in Chicago because all it would take to be cleaner would be no nails and rusty screws sticking out of the walls. Most definitely would not recommend this unprofessional nail salon with absolutely nonexistent customer service.
